... you should be way more concerned over what is going to happen to the USA if it defaults on it's debt obligations by Oct 18th due to Republican foolishness in the Senate.

Oct 18th is a estimate. The risk is that Congress runs out of cash earlier than expected, setting the stage for an accidental default that would have dire consequences for almost everyone.

There are several possibilities.
1. Nothing cahnges and the corp. eats the increase
2. Prices go up and the consumer pays for the increase
3. The producer finds a way to manufacture the product cheaper and the price stays the same, or the price rises a little.

So, 2 out of your three scenarios have boiled down to affecting the consumer negatively. Yet you've been sitting there arguing with Billy and trying to convince him and others that this won't affect the middle class or the poor, and then turn around and admit that people like us are going to more than likely have to just deal with the increase in cost or a decline in quality of a product for the same price!?!? What the hell are you smoking? And can I get some?

I never worry about the rich because they're smart enough to take care of themselves. If you raise their taxes, you're only raising taxes on yourself (middle class) because they're gonna raise the cost of food, utilities, lumber, whatever.
