Can we remove the politics from this site?

I've avoided the rants and raves section of this group for over a decade, but I must admit I finally let myself get sucked in a month ago on a hate Trump thread and have spent too much time slinging memes with copier addict and the other one. Despite their protests otherwise, it was their bs that made me decide to give them a taste of their own medicine. 30 pages of barbs against one another, and it was 2 libs against 2 conservatives for the most part. Not anyone else really participating and certainly no changing of minds. I don't really care one way or the other if they want to ban politics on here, for the longest time I only used this site for tech info. Plenty of groups online for when I feel like arguing politics. I don't think it hurts anything cause nobody else pays attention to the political rants except those that are passionate about a side, but I get keeping the group dumpster fire free lol.

Good point, if some people switched their efforts away from rants and raves and put it into helping people fix their machines then this world would be a better place.

One suggestion has been to create a separate Forum for Political posts and leave RREE for things like ZOOTECH's Funny Joke of the Day, Aneurysm's My 1,000th Post and a few others. It would make it a whole lot easier to find those when you want to add a post to one. The only thing there is it will be an awful lot of work and right now I think Aneurysm needs a rest and we need some moderators when Aneurysm has time to vet some.

I for one find the bickering amusing, but yea it needs a place of its own. Its overwhelming the purpose of the timeline it should keep.

I am simply trying to point out the hypocrisy of what our Maga representatives are posting. They don't like it so they block me. They want another echo chamber here and I believe echo chambers are not productive. They just reinforce ones confirmation bias.

Yeah but because of very few people this forum is basically obsessed and has no value for majority.
Even there are topics with good quality they're quickly buried under political rants and members who are not daily around find only pile of crap over everything else!
I'm too used to be here and know forums and members inside out but in fact missed Aneurysm post here because of lack of desire to enter RREE forum. I don't want anyone banned because I believe in free speech but when it comes to the point forum is stolen from the members I'm pissed off!
