The problem I have with that is, who gets to set the standard? Who is telling us that we aren't good enough? Christianity and Islam have the same God but their "standards" are not even close to each other.
So, let's say there is a one God. Who gets to interpret him/her? How do you know what that one God said to this interpreter is being interpreted correctly?
In my opinion it is very convenient for these interpreters that God doesn't like to show himself/herself.

The standard isn't set by man. It is set by God. I think that everyone being fallen shows that we all stand on equal ground. The standard is perfection so we all fall equally short. Nothing we do in ourselves can save us. Also I don't know why people think Islam and Christianity have the same God. They claim that Jesus was a prophet that is the only correlation besides them taking some things out of the Bible they liked. Theologically we see nothing the same. They have a works based faith, don't have assurance of salvation, their religion is largely based on third party teachings. But back to the point. I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God preserved through time. There is no interpretation. The Bible is to be taken literally. The bible says do not Murder. That's that. No need for a 100 page essay. It doesn't say you cant kill a person but murder is wrong. True Christians take twisting of the scriptures as one of the worst heresies. So at least for me. (And what is true christianity) there is no need to worry about third parties using religion as a weapon. There is only what we believe as God's word. (just to narrow things down if we want to continue talking)


(also except for the catholic church i dont think christianity has been weaponized to the extent others have. and the catholic church at that time was pretty corrupt so yeah im not going to avoid condemning those who used the bible as an excuse to do wrong. as you have to take things out of context/twist it to get there)

But the Bible was written by men interpreting the "Word of God". How do you know they interpreted it correctly. Plus, which Bible do you stand by. The Old Testament or the New Testament? They are basically conflicting books. Most "Christians" cherry pick the passages they want from either of the books in order to impose them on others.

The old and new testament do not conflict. I don't know where you are getting your information but just like any other book. You have to understand the chapter/ passage or else your taking stuff out of context. Like the Bible does actually "there is no God" The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good Psalm 14:1. Christians believe that God literally spoke through the authors of the book. It does not contradict no matter what someone on tiktok might be saying

Ok that's a very common belief. In the old testament things were run differently. God didn't change. The plan did. I really am not equipped to talk about this I'll have to come back to it later. But with every fire and brimstone situation the people were either too far gone (sacrificing children, and other horrible things) or were given time to repent. I think the main problem people have with this is not wanting to believe in a God that not only is better then them but also demands perfection or a settling of accounts. God is not only just but also merciful. Without mercy none of us would be here. And without justice he wouldn't be perfect. God has given us a gift of his only Son. And because he was perfect was a suitable sacrifice for our sins. But that sacrifice doesn't work if we don't recognize it and accept it. I mean its easy to reach for salvation but to do that we'd be admitting we are sinners who have no hope of achieving the standard needed for heaven. In fact it is so hard for people to be awakened to the fact that I believe it is the Holy spirit (one part of the trinity) that cures us of our blindness.

Now we are getting somewhere. You don't agree that fanatics are misinterpreting Islam because it doesn't match your narrative. You want to single out one religion. You don't want to admit the Israel is also using their religion to wage war.

You first need religion in order for it to be misinterpreted. Do you agree?

You see, the wars are being waged over people's twisted interpretations of Islam. Do you admit that?

Radical evangelists do the same thing. They cherry pick certain phrases from the old testament and then twist them to match the message they want to spew while ignoring anything else in the same book that doesn't go along with the hatred and fear they want to spread. Do you agree?

Here's the truth. When you were asked about the Quran, you only said that it was being misinerpreted. No mention of calls for violence or fire and brimstone. But you were quick to label the bible as being full of fire and brimstone.
