Why on God's green earth would any country allow a drug addict, who are often depressed, to voluntarily kill himself via the government? I find it absolutely disgusting. That's just me.

First it is allowed. Then it becomes mandatory for a small list of terminal diseases. Then the list grows until it includes those over a certain age. Eventually you have a society as depicted at the start of the movie Logan's Run.

Suicide is wrong. Assisting in that endeavor is wrong. If you don't agree that suicide is morally wrong then we can't progress the argument i guess. Also supporting this only is being a lackey to the government wanting to cut off those dragging down the already failing healthcare system. I mean why do i need to convince you that saving someones life is morally better then helping them end it?

I'm gonna disagree with that. If a person is near end of life and in tremendous pain and suffering, assisted suicide is acceptable in my opinion. I've seen this first hand with a family memeber. However, drug addiction isn't that and is wrong.

Some lives can't be saved and, in my opinion, it is morally wrong to keep them alive simply for the sake of keeping them alive.
Plus, just because something is available it doesn't mean everyone is going rush to partake. Cannabis usage was legalised in Canada several years ago and studies have shown that there has been no meaningful increase in usages amongst the public.
I understand they are not the same thing but having availability doesn't automatically mean usage will increase.

I'm aware its not like that. I can agree that maybe if the person is suffering... idk its sort of also a religious issue for me. But anyway in situations of drugs, depression etc proposing/making available suicide for the person is just messed up. Those people aren't in their right mind to even choose that sort of thing even if it was ok.

I doubt if Doctor Jack Kevorkian, AKA, Jack The Dripper, went from hospital to hospital looking for terminal patients he could execute. He was called by either the patient or the patient's family.
