Now what the actual buying public thinks .

(NewsNationA survey conducted by McKinsey Center For Future Mobility reported that 46% of U.S. car owners who drive electric vehicles would shift back to an internal combustion engine. The percentage was the second highest behind electric car owners from the United Kingdom, 49% of which would switch back.

Australia's EV market is booming as Chinese brand BYD challenges Tesla with more affordable options.

BYD offers more affordable options, with the Atto 3 starting at $44,499 compared to Tesla's now discounted $54,900 base price for the Model 3, which can go up to $80,900 for the Performance variant.

This has made BYD a popular choice for budget-conscious, eco-friendly Australians.

Tesla remains the market leader in Australia, with over half of last year's EV sales, but BYD is catching up due to its lower prices. In January, BYD outsold Tesla for the first time, as Tesla faced supply chain issues.

As Australia's EV market grows, the rise of Chinese manufacturers like BYD offers both opportunities and challenges.

Consumers enjoy more affordable and diverse options, but there are concerns about safety, servicing, data privacy, and geopolitical implications.

There's no doubt that Dementia Joe's policies have placed China in a favorable position in the EV market. The good news is Trump will slap high tariffs on any EV's from China.

China has tried to get around this buy building their EV's in Mexico, but Trump has that covered, too.
