Oooohh yeah, I think our Olympia model was a 2301. I think I need a good stiff drink. The 1112 Konica was a small clam shell boat anchor.
Which copier was the biggest piece of crap ever?

Anybody remember the Canon NP6060? (Or, as we called them, the "sicky-sicky"...)
Not too bad electronically, but a total mechanical nightmare with about a zillion electromagnetic clutch issues.
The early ones were the worst, as they had TONS of tech pubs to update the clutches with shims, along with countless other exercises in futility.
And the CFF (Computer Forms Feeder - Oi veh!). As I remember, the NP500 was the first one, but that one almost worked. The sicky-sicky, on the other hand...“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment

Hi, Graybeard,
Was that Savin from the mid to late (gulp!) seventies?
I grew up on the Canon NP-L7, which was also liquid machine with a moving platen.
I remember hearing at the time that there was a similar Savin model; maybe the 840 was it.
Funny, they were called "plain paper" copiers, yet you need to run a certain hard finish paper for any type of CQ at all.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment

That was it....you had to run Savin paper if you could make it work at all. My life was taking tanks apart and clearing black clumps of goo (sometimes called toner) from in between the bulb and the sensor. Toning or de-toning was determined by the distance between the bulb and the sensor. The stupid little thing must've weighed 80 lbs. And at the time I was living proof that you didn't hafta be an electronics whiz to fix the stuff....good mechanical knowledge and a lot of patience was all it took.Comment

Imagepress C1 Will be my top choice.
New its has outstanding color image. (V toner)
Slow(as advertised)
No support(techs clueless)
Very limited Dev units (too small)
500K MYTH!!!(65K at best)
Did not work well with MAC/fiery (Poor software)
$$$$$$ to fix( time lost on service visits and training)
Complicated to work on(poor design)
And the BIG one
WAY to Expensive $$$$ for what you get, it is NOT a production machineComment

Well you said anything go's
I wish I was making this up
You Know come to think of it
Some times the Mfgr will put out a mach that has a lot of
"new" items to field test on different configs to see what part holds up
THEN the tech's figure it out how to improve or re config to make it work.
Many times with other Mfgr's I have been that "field" test and THEY
go back and fix it with our time and expense.
This saves them TONS of R&D and $$$$$$
Then I look at this C1 and what a ClusterF##K it is.
Canon should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this and hurting the End User and their business to the point Major loss of Business or worse.
XeroX as much as I have seen some goof ups has the Balls to make it right
and keep it up until they can get it right most of the time.
Canon it self is a good company.
Canon Business Solutions Elkridge MD (mr R.T.) Lier & scumbag &
Canon Leasing
ARE THE Whores and Vampires of this Business
For what they did and NOT do when we gave then a second chance.
Then we gave them a third chance to make it right
(Why did I do that??? Cuz I am a tech and would like that chance so I did!)
Their machines failed!!!!out right failed!!! Then Failed again.
Then failed again,Then failed again..I had to fix it..........
2 copiers replaced 5X In less than a year.
Without our B&W for over 3 mo!!!!!!! Had to use the C1 as our B&W.
Wrong fiery servers,Tech's clueless, software wont work ,30-40% waste on the color jobs.
And would not even return phone calls.
We did call the Presidents direct hot line from canon and they were very
sad and helpless to fix this.......
They could not undo what CBS did.........and told me directly
that they were VERY unhappy with CBS and their performance,
and how many unhappy customers and law suits they have caused.
BUT the Canon Leasing is the really Big problem with their contracts
legal as they are there is no protection for the customer AT ALL
Not even a warr on the Mach if it fails..they dont care
Its not their problem.
SO you lease it From Canon Business Solutions
with Canon Leasing
AND YOUR FUCKEDComment

your right....
Most any Sharp that starts with SF 7***, except the old 7300 series, they were pretty decent machines, the 7800's and 7700's them were dogs.
I read somebody wanted to have a copier smash up session, rather see David Letterman toss some off a building, see how many peices they wind up in, or take some to a miltary base and let them us some old ones for target pratice.exploding tank rounds hitting junk copiers, musta been quite relieving and relaxing, taking "office space" too seriously, i guess!!!
