Do you remember this kind of call on those copiers......." THIS IS A NEW COPIER. WHY IS IT MAKING THAT KNOCKING NOISE WHEN I MAKE A COPY? "

You drive a hour, and look at the copier...NO PROBLEM FOUND. Hunt down the lady that called, take her to the copier and show her it is OK. Then she shows you what she wants to print !

A nice, neat, form with big, bold, lines down the entire sheet...

You try not to laugh when she tells you that the other copier ( liquid ) did not make that sound printing her form. Then you try to explain that the fuser rollers are under pressure, and they are compressing the toner into the paper, and that as the rollers press that line of toner into the paper, the rollers are just banging together. Then you show them the difference between portrait and landscape.

YEP...Those were the good ole days.
Oh the memories...I used to work on Canon NP120s and 125s.

One positive on cold fusing machines (believe it or not) was that they didn't have the same shrinkage issue as with any machine that uses heat.

I had an engineering firm buy a number of NP125s for this sole reason.

There's a couple of their "multifunction printers" that people always buy as copiers. They're such garbage. There's always calls to service them.
Here's one example: MultiXpress CLX-8380ND color laser multifunction printer CLX-8380ND - Color Multifunction Laser Printers - Printers & Multifunction | SAMSUNG

Really? I have a couple of Samsung's in the field. I've got at least one or 6555's with over 100K on them each and a slew of 8380's. I've NEVER had a service call on the 6555's and rarely ever have a call on the 8380's. The only issue is that the color imaging units wear out pretty quickly. Keep your FW's up to date and everything works like a champ.
