I've contacted the admin of Migadu and he's totally okay with the fact that it's used for scan2mail,

He recommends having a single domain name, but creating a separate e-mail address for each customer to keep track of those who abuse it (too many scans / death threats / etc.).

This is 100% the reason I require all of my clients to provide an email account for their MFPs and other devices to use for any kind of email. Spam has been an issue for decades and the basic tools to reduce email impersonation and to blacklist spammers have been around forever but not enforced. It's about time that DKIM and SPF are enforced. The issue isn't with SMTP2Go, it's with providers that have been doing the work for their clients.

When the client has the ability to generate an email address they have access to their mail system. At that point it's just knowing, or looking up, the requirements for that service which is easy enough to do.

The majority of my clients are using 365 and hosted Exchange through it so it's just configuring an address for the HVE servers or following the steps for a relay. SPF and DKIM at that point are already taken care of because it's been set as part of 365 onboarding. It's a similar thing for smaller clients using ISP email accounts: there's no third-party like SMTP2GO involved in the process so no records to add to DNS, etc.
