Hey all. I have a coworker with an ir-adv c2230 giving green lines on copies as well as internal prints. I don't have a photo (sorry). We've tried replacing the ITB as well as the laser unit. Has anyone else run across a green line?

Does it travel on paper _?
Did u test with single color test prints_?
Are lines in Non-Image areas _?**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon Ir-Adv C2230
Replace green drum.
You are very modest with data. Please post a picture. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Re: Canon Ir-Adv C2230
Open the door during copy and look at the drums. Weird colors like green usually are a color missing. Run test page 10 and see if all the colors are there. I would think ITB also if it is not cleaning the belt.Comment

Asuming feed direction :
If you get a green line in a spot where you would expect another color, like in a picture, i'd suspect the magenta drum haveing a blank. IE Yellow and Cyan, but no Magenta on that area. Like Dan7777 says, do a PG10, or a PG5 in magenta...
You replaced the laseunit, so i guess you also checked to see if somehing is blocking the laser for magenta on the spot where the line is ?JohanComment

Re: Canon Ir-Adv C2230
Hey guys! Sorry for the gaps, I haven't posted much and don't know what information to put out. The line is in the direction of paper feed, 2/3 of the way down the page. It doesn't replace colors. It does not travel with the paper, and appears exactly the same on every page. The line comes in the same spot on B/W, Picture/text, or on a blank page. It shows up on internal prints as well as copies.
I will ask my co-worker for a picture. He works 2 hours away, and asked for help with troubleshooting. I suggested an ITB and Laser unit, which he replaced and it did not help.Comment

Re: Canon Ir-Adv C2230
I'd do a PG5 on all of the separate colors and do a halfway print (open door during printing) to see when the line occurs (on drum, on ITB, after Fuser).
Black line
(color line)
Check that black line does not appear on entire image.
Scratch on Photosensitive Drum
Dirt on Primary Charging Roller

You place a BLANK white sheet of paper on copy-glass.
Press start\copy, if there shows a green line down page that goes from lead edge to trail edge , tech needs to look at optics, including laser (again).
Note: a line can be digital one (electrical /board issue) or mechanical one( ITB, DRUM,DEV,FUSER)**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon Ir-Adv C2230
How is it possible that a tech would not inspect the most obvious > a Drum:-\
U stop halfway during copying, pull Drum/ Drums, and look at its air face.
Saves time and money in parts.
Troubleshooting is a science learned in the field,
It's a process of elimination and noteing your steps.
Good luck.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Exactly, so the lines were actually black lines not green!Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!
