More technical/scientific explanations could be still be offered in terms of the BASIC SCIENCE of MATTER & ENERGY,with CALCULUS though, to defend msuidy's "theorem" because that is what the design engineers use to design a dynamic system, but that will be a topic on its own for another day.
The point here is that msiudy "STUFF" works! It has been tested n proven by many techs, including none other than "charm", who is a highly respected technician & member of this forum! No kidding here, msuidy please go ahead with the BET and pick the 10,000 dollars from chanuk.

      Answer this simple question_

How does the SALT sensor read the YELLOW patch >
after you close the door & power up printer, with a BLACK UNIT in yellow slot that has not had enough time to receive enough YELLOW toner. ?????

when the SALT does not see an immediate YELLOW patch/= E020 ERROR
      Read Time>>>>>
1.after a new drum is installed
      2.after you power up
      3.when u open/& close a door while powered up

Just a thought, 190 drums @ $100 savings per is some serious cash, like $19,000...

I keep reading where some of you guys are referring to "only OEM" for your machines. I agree. I ONLY use OEM products. Nothing about this has anything to do with the after market crap that's out there.

Teckat, I'm not sure where the yellow patch gradation is read, but all the drums are manufactured the same. The ONLY difference is the "starter" charge of toner that's put into them, oh yeah, and the labels indicating which color they are supposed to be. Other than that, no difference. Just out of curiosity I have changed the chips and the little wired in chip module on a couple of these to see if the machine would read them or kick them. None get kicked. Regardless of color, all four color drums are the same. Yes, I know that some of you tech guys, who have far more knowledge and experience than I do, simply don't agree. That's fine, but this does work, and when you're replacing a set of drums why spend the extra money?
As a tech I like doing things the correct way. That includes removing the screws from the end caps and putting the proper ones back on so there aren't any lose plastic burs from the key. And yes we did take into account that initial savings, but as a canon dealership that is a HUGE NO NO and if we have any issue with the device and a canon engineer has to come out and assist us we are deep sh!t because of it....savings not worth it
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

From msiudy's quote :" Just out of CURIOSITY I have changed the chip and the little wired chip module on a couple of the to see if the machine would see or kick them".
              - Allow me to ADD another quote from a very famous and international respected American GENIUS , a PHYSICIST, MATHEMATICIAN & SCIENTIST: The Late ALBERT EINSTEIN, and I Quote, " The important thing is NOT to stop questioning CURIOSITY, it ( curiosity ) has its own REASON for EXISTENCE; Never lose a holy curiosity".
It is curiosity which lead to the scientific discoveries we "enjoy".
              - More quotes from ALBERT EINSTEIN, whom I, being also being a trained physicist and engineer, have intense admiration for;
1)- " A NEW IDEA comes suddenly and in a rather intuitive way. But intuition is nothing but outcome of earlier intellectual experience".
2)-" A new type of thinking is essential if mankind is to survive and move towards higher level".
3)- " IMAGINATION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN KNOWLEDGE. For knowledge is LIMITED whereas imagination embraces the entire world, STIMULATING PROGRESS, giving birth to EVOLUTION. It is strictly speaking a real factor in RESEARCH".
And finally the BIG ONE :
4)- "GREAT SPIRITS HAVE ALWAYS ENCOUNTERED VIOLENT OPPOSITION FROM MEDIOCRE MINDS", end of EINSTEIN'S QUOTES. His words not mine.
So? msiudy go ahead with your 'research' & sale of your 'product'.

How very humbling... and to think, a guy with a 143 IQ could receive such adoration.

Ha, go ahead, trash me. It's all good.

Joining this thread has been very entertaining. Even for you guys who want to rip me a new one, I do find t pretty funny overall.

Dag is on point though. Think inside the box and you'll never grow. Think outside the box and the possibilities are endless. "Intuition is nothing but outcome of earlier intellectual experience". Don't get trapped in your daily routine, there's so much more out there if you just open your mind.

Do you guys think that 3200's are my life? They are simply a sidebar, one that intrigues me, yet makes me a living, or part of one. I am perpetually curious and interested in many things. Probably too many. There is one thing I won't tackle; automatic transmissions... holy crap! Confusing.

I don't claim to be a genius of any sort. Actually, I'm the guy next door sitting on the deck drinking a beer, a regular kind of guy. But I do THINK about things and how they work. Understanding is part of learning. Learning is understanding. Creating is using the learning and understanding to formulate new ideas. Pretty simple. I've often wondered why more people don't use their minds like this, then I always come back to the realization that most, if not all of you, were educated by the government system, which teaches you not how to think, but how to memorize.

I sucked in school, a "D" student at best. When I left school I realized what was really out there, learning! Then I excelled. How odd... a system that teaches you to memorize things versus actually using your mind. I prefer to use my mind, and that sometimes upsets the apple cart... roll on apple pickers! We all like fruit!

Take heart, and calm down my dear msuidy. The world is so, it has "TRASHED" many men before you, many are still to be "TRASHED".
                    - MARCONI's "friends" had him taken into custody and examined in a psycopathic hospital, when he announced he had DISCOVERED" a PRINCIPLE through which he could send messages through the AIR, WITHOUT the aid of WIRES or direct physical means of communication.
                    - Thanks to Marconi's " TRASHED" RADIO-WIRELESS PRINCIPLE, today Radio, tv, Internet communications are a household name, and has revolutionized the world , and made space exploration & communication much easier.
Now , Let us all get back to work, get busy and be fruitful. The heavens cannot collpse or disappear because of this single THREAD on this forum.

Thank u very much, mrfixit, your advice is very timely. Never at any onetime did I imagine this thread could degenerate into lowliness of name-calling and insults.
This is my study, analysis and understanding of BOTH the words TRASH-MAN & ZOMBIE, as applied in this thread.
1)- A blockhead, one who has a closed mind not receptive to any new ideas.
2)- He doesn't think outside the box.
3)- He is proud to be 'XYZ' trained. So thoroughly brain washed by the XYZ 'MANTRA' that the only words he can speak COMFORTABLY is those which come from the XYZ " PRAYER MANUAL" which he reproduces so faithfully that u may think he is a robot or parrot.
                              4) He suffers so much from inferiority complex that, whenever he loses an intellectual argument on a topic , he resorts to name-calling & insults on to other members in order to cover-up his intellectual weakness & DERAIL others from the REAL issues at hand.
5)- In political jargon, those "zombies" are referred to as " BOOTLICKERS," who can only 'mimic' what their godfathers say or write down in their ' manifestos'. They can continue to enjoy those "privileges" only so long as they TOW the godfathers' OFFICIAL line. However, when they lose those privileges from the godfathers, they immediately IMPLODE like a picture tube or the METALLIC CAN in the " CRUSHING CAN EXPERIMENT in elementary physics.
                              6) Being closed-mind thinkers, they can't see beyond their nose and therefore have no NEW IDEAS to to contribute to advancement of society, apart from ' parroting' other people's view.
                              7) We demand nothing more than respect for each other on this forum, not name calling and insults.
THANK once again, mrfixit , for your timely interventions.

Here is my experiment findings on the ITB scrape mark issue>
                                after testing 14- iR3200/3220's with out that large metal plate on underside of ITB {keep the small plate attached with varistor}
Results= NO SCRAPE MARKS in past month>
total volume=for all printers that month=162,000

                                To add / U can Swap out ITB's from a 5180 to a 3200 > it works>
