C224 reset tool

Hi All
I have a used C224 just come in with the CE Password changed from default
i have tryed all the different combinations i know but it looks like i will have to reset the machine
is there a reset tool for the C224
i have it for the E versions

Are you referring to the MFPB reset tool? If so, the Color 'e' and Color non 'e' tool is the same.

You need to get a code and supply it to km who will give you a unlock code
This will reset the CE password

What ive done in past is dodgy but works
Open side door and unplug fuser
Enter service mode password screen
Close side door and wait for error
Press menu
You should now have skipped the password screen and be in
You will have to do this each time you neef service mode

i have tried all combos of the default password
had a go with unplugging the fuser but still asks for password
i will try the reset tool

its possible firmware patched that. last time i tried it was on a not e model
ill try again in office if i get it to work ill record the process for u

ive never used the reset tool. in past ive had to enter service mode then do a stop sequence of numbers that brings up a reset screen. you then quoted the code to KM who would supply the reset code. once you input the reset code it sets it to factory default

the code is only valid for 24 hours tho

nah because it asks for the password again before it lets you reset it

can anyone recommend a usb stick brand to use on C224 i normaly use a scndisk cruzer 2g but they dont seem to like it

are you plugged into the correct service port?
is the stick formatted fat32?

Yes and Yes thought there was only 1 service port (remove the screw and lift the flap)
is there any other routines like leave the door open in service manual it states close door within 3 seconds of switching on
have noticed when doing movie data this memory stick is not always recognised
will get a new usb and try again

Movie data gets installed through the front ctl panel usb not the service port

was just the usb stick it didnt like
Got a new usb stick 1g
ran reset tool as per bulletin
password now reset to default

Fat32? It cant use USB3 but if its only 2GB im guessings it USB2
