Konica Minolta C3350i - eating toner

    Hi guys,

we have a customer with a Konica Minolta C3350i that seems to be going through toner like no tomorrow (more on the cyan), the machine is on the latest firmware with a total of 30K mileage,

the user doesn't print mass of amount of prints, upon inspection the waste toner seems to be filling up very quick. We have taken the IU out, shaken, lightly tapped the dev tank, some other users did put posts on here before regarding the imaging unit but we cannot seem to locate them (potentially due to the new update)

before we attend does anyone have any suggestions?

This topic has been more than covered.
    *Upgrade FW to version 2.3
*Remove all imaging units and shake them firmly but carefully.
*Then check the actual TCR level of each one, possibly it will indicate crazy values, close to 10,11 or 12%.
*Perform 100% mass runs of the triggered color to get it below 8% minimum.
If it does not recover, replace the imaging unit in question.

      +1, already discussed multiple times.
Kenny Bad model don't sell them or you are going to regret.

Note it states G00-B5 or newer. I would put latest on the machine

Faded image on copies and prints.
Note: C255X code may also occur.

CAUSE: Image unit is depleted due to a possible poor connection on the HV units or failed image units

SOLUTION: Install firmware version G00-B5 or newer. The latest version firmware is available for download via One Stop Product Support. After installing firmware version G00-B5 or later, follow bulletin 12202

        4. Reinstall the HV unit in the machine
        5. Power ON the machine and check TCR readings for all colors they should be in the range of 6.00 if they are not, run manual toner add in service mode
        6. After TCR levels are around 6.00 run the machine, It is recommended that the GDI test page be used to make the outputs. confirm the TCR values are staying steady
7 The image units may have to be replaced if the TCR values do not recover or image quality is poor

Take cyan IU out shake and hit around the TCR sensor with the rubber side of a screw driver. Pull out all paper trays and run Int/stabilize like 2-4 times. Check TCR, if below 6% run toner add. Then run a set of full toner cyan test prints. Then check TCR again if over 9% run more halftones if below 6% I would just replace the IU. Make sure to run gradation after everything.

My though on shaking it and trying to knock that DEV loose is that I am going to replace the IU if this does not work so might as well knock it around good and try to get it nice a loose. Also image stabilization priority set to standard (Default) helps a lot. When we get new ones in we go through and shake all IU's, run high agitation with fully bleed halftones, run it hard to even out TCR lvl until they stay steady and then final check runs it hard again, and the IU problems have not have happened.
            Permanently banned from Konica SSD.
