    Bizhub c250i errors c3826 c-c180 sometimes ce201

    Hello,

I' m Ricoh and Sharp technician but i have at one of customer Bizhub c250i (and c300i but this one still works). The problem was as always fusing (I thought that Sharp had bad fusers in MX-xx61/71 series. I changed settings (sw, temp and smart fusing) in April and c250i worked about 2 months without any problems. One week ago the customer reported c3826 and "settings doesn't work and printer doesn't print". My colleague was there and saw c3826 (fuser problem) and ce201. I knew about fuser change to v2 so i ordered v2 version. After change old fuser to new by first run i have now c-c180 and sometimes very rarely ce201. Before fuser change i saw notification like "pdf/a font not installed". All diagnostics tests in CE mode are good. All is OK. Bizhub thinks that his condition is perfect First after fuser change I updated of course firmware to ver. AA2J0Y0-F000-G00-Q6. So errors are after firmware upgrading too. After that I formated SSD (256GB Phison) logical then physical. I initialized machine (clear all data). Now something interesting. In service mode stop-9-Billing-Authentication Device 2- i have only checked form Authentication Device 2 and there is no UNSET form. Machine of course doesn't have card reader. Am I right that this can be base board or cpu board? In detailed trouble codes i have 0x1FFF together with c-c180 (95 times). Is there anything else that could confirm cpu or base board defect? I don't have any parts for these models. I have limited knowledge about Minolta. Usually I work with Ricoh and Sharp and Xerox. Total counter is only about 8000 pages...

So many problems. I'll try to tackle a few.

Regarding the Fuser replacement, did you follow the instructions that came with that new version of fuser? Depending on which fuser it had installed from the factory, you may have needed to install a spacing plate, longer screw, updated firmware, changed Engine Switch settings to make the copier compatible with the new style fuser, and installed a filter (color models only).

The C-C180 has to do with the authentication unit. It believes there is one installed, of which you indicate there isn't. I wasn't too clear on what you were saying regarding this in your post above. It sounds like in service mode that it indicates there is one installed, but the option to UNSET the unit is not present? I don't deal with authentication units much at all, so hopefully someone else can chime in on that.

Yes I followed the instructions delivered with new fuser so: plate, screw, filter and sw 12 and 40 to ON plus firmware. Exactly I didn't find any card reader and I don't have UNSET option - it should be on the left from Authentication Device 2. The customer never used authentication cards on this machine. For the CC180 it means the loadable device driver needs to match the firmware. You could try getting the loadable device driver for the firmware you put on the machine. Before loading the correct loadable device driver be sure to delete the old loadable device driver.
Also G00-Q6 is very unstable firmware, so unstable Konica removed from the website, the current firmware is G00-RE. when you download it also download the .pdf . It will have a list of the loadable device driver, pdf font , movie data and all other firmware that needs to be updated at the same time you update the firmware .You will also need to update the boot rom before updating firmware. after updating firmware set sw 25 to hex 40, this will put the machine at the correct function level.
attaching a bulletin that came out before they went to function version 2.3 other than that it has a lot of good information.

CE201 occurs during copying or printing

        "CAUSE: Transmission log storage failed

        Enter Service Mode
        Touch State Confirmation
        Touch Memory Storage Adjustment
Go to the second Page and Touch Format
        Touch Physical Format first
Press Start and watch for the progress.
When finished the machine will ask you to reboot.
        Repeat steps
Touch Logical Format and press Start
When finished the machine will ask you to turn OFF then turn ON

Thank You Markks. I'll check this. At the moment I only have this firmware because I don't have access to the Minolta service site. I got the current firmware (I don't know why this unstable version) from a friend who repairs Minolta copiers and sure has access to service site. I have to ask him for the latest firmware then.

End of topic Unfortunately the problem was due to my ignorance. I confused the switches in State Confirmation with switches in System 2. Switch 12 is Addition of the authentication device and bit 10 hex 02 is Card3. I changed this soft switch to bit 00 as default. So no more cc180 error now. I will update the software to the latest yet. Thank You all for your help.

Not ignorant , we all make mistakes. Glad you figured it out. Thanks for the update. Also ask your friend for the PDF and all the other firmware that is supposed to be updated at the same time
