    C364 GB2-K5 to GR7-M0

    Hi Folks,
I have a customer with a bizhub C364 (non e) that is on GB2-K5 and I need to get the firmware up to date, GR7-M0. (It's not auto-reporting meters and my office manager is blaming me)
From the research I did, it seems that GB2-K5 is a special release to address scan to MS360 email problems.
Am I able to flash directly to G20-K8 and step up from there, or is there a special procedure?
    Thanks again, friends!

There is some debate on this forum about whether or not to jump up or step up firmware, at least on the i-series. All I can say is for our shop we always step up firmware, even on the i-series. Of course you can always read each Readme file and determine for yourself if you can skip that level or not. We also skip all of the "Special" firmware unless it specifically applies to the copier we're working on, if that copier is having those issues.

As far as I can tell, A1610Y0-F000-GB2-K5 is from early 2016 (January?). From what I can see on OneStop the base firmware versions go from A1610Y0-F000-G00-72 released on 2/27/2014 to A1610Y0-F000-GR5-M0 released on 2/6/2022. I find it hard to believe that there is a 6 year gap on firmware releases.
Should I be able to directly flash to GR5-MO and then step to GR7-M0?

If the only problem is not reporting meters, I'd check to be certain the port isn't blocked before you dive into this and potentially cause a firmware conflict.

did anything change on the customers network? If it was reporting meters then just stopped its possible that the gateway changed .

That model requires updating to a K8 firmware first before using something newer like a M0 or M1 firmware. Updating it will add TLS 1.2 so it's likely that's why it can't send email.

Your meter auto meter reads should be done via vCare no?
