[Misc] Account Track Prompt on Universal Driver V4

Currently trying to get printer drivers working on laptops using Snapdragon processors for my org (Don't ask why). We have a Bizhub C654e and a Bizhub C558, configured with account track passwords so that we can track what client to bill or non-billable when printing large amounts of documents. I have gotten it working for the default non billable code, but I am trying to get it to prompt for an account track password every time I print for when we need to bill clients (and have a count set up for different clients). Anyone know how to get it to prompt for the account track password every time using the Universal V4 drivers for windows 11 on Arm?

From printer properties go to settings tab. Then select authentication button and check the box Popup Authentication Dialog when printing.

You will also need to remove the User name and password on the driver if you previously entered them on preferences tab

Thanks for the reply Markks! Unfortunately, those look like the old drivers. That was the method I was using before but the tenant would like to switch over to the new Snapdragon processors. Those drivers don't work on Windows 11 on ARM. Here is what the windows look like now on the Universal Print Driver V4:

I managed to enable the account track from preferences, by clicking the all tab and then clicking basic, but there is no option here for the popout authentication window for printing

We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
          The medication helps though...

Hey, Markks, the drivers I am running are the only ones that seem to be compatible with windows 11 ARM for my printers. Which other driver are you looking at?

this reminds me when vista rolled around and everyone upgraded to it and there were no konicaminolta drivers for it at all.
it wont let you force win 10 drivers? just asking.

It will not unfortunately. Errors out in installation every time

what if you pointed to the unzipped driver from the package?
i avoid the install exe, always un"zipped" the driver and just pointed to it during install. 50/50 shot.

too bad they arent tablets that may use the konicaminolta mobile print app.

sorry i couldnt be more help.

Unfortunately, that does not seem to work either. Clicking the driver manually in the regular universal driver doesn't even give an error, it just loops and has me select again

The only drivers available for ARM are the V4 drivers. You may have to install one printer object in Windows for each account track code they intend to use with that code set as default.

It is not pretty, and requires me to add 32 printer objects, but this is the best option so far outside of having the user go into preferences and change the code every time

On the bright side at least if you setup one computer you can export it with print management and import it into the others.

There may also be a way to print using secure print or a user box (set to 1 day expiration) and then release it by logging into the machine with the right code. However, I've never tried that and don't know if the code burned into the print job at printing time is used or is ignored.
