Trying to get scan to file share working after our network admin blocked ftp. Everything points to this bizhub having ancient firmware.

Does anyone have the latest firmware for this model? From reading different posts, it looks like the latest does support SMB2.

We are using GDU-M1 with dip switch 25 set to 60 for function version 7 to add SMB2. Don't forget to update the SSD firmware to prevent SSD failure on this model.

Many times on this forum unless you are a contributor many members will not send you firmware. Another option is to contact copier tech at his website https://www.printerfirmware.co.uk/ for firmware.

i have GDB-M1 for that, (its slightly older than GDU) and set bit SW 219 to hex 0x00and set NTLM to v1/v2. or even 2.0 only if avail.
and sw 25 to 60 as Duplicator pointed out.

From what I can recall, there was a special SSD firmware updater. I've attached the readme.

That being said I believe using regular firmware updates it would show the SSD version along the top of the screen somewhere.

Yes the SSD will get updated with this firmware.

The latest firmware does include updates to the SSD firmware, but it will only update the SSD if the SSD firmware is at least 6.03m. The special SSD update firmware only needs to be run first, to bring it up to 6.03m, if it is currently at 6.02m or lower. See attached Tech Bulletin for details.

is there a way to see what the ssd firmware is without the tool? It looks like my unit was manufactured in 2015 and i was confused with the tech bulletin since it mentioned anything after Feb 2014 had the fix done already.

in service mode under firmware version prolly last page to scroll.

12.4.2 Procedure

1. Call the Service Mode to the screen.

2. Touch [Firmware Version].

3. Select the appropriate key from 1 to 5 to check the firmware version.

Thanks! I just looked and my unit does have the 6.05m ssd firmware. Im guessing at some point they did the ssd fix but didnt update the rest of the firmware.

do you have the minimum GDB-M1? GDU sounds newer but i dont know if the bit sw is needed with that ver.

I dont think so... I dont find those letter combinations on the version page.
