    Bizhub C454e

We have multiple small problems, after our printer was dead because the small cell battery was out of power and we needed to change it. KM wanted to help us at first, but we have to change the battery ourselves. We did like they told us, then one day later they said no, if the customer has touched the printer they can't help us. So we had to do all by ourselves.
We solved to get it back and a lot of things with the settings. But now we need help for some left issues.

    1. It writes on display only black and white printing is possible, but we can print color.
How can I stop or terminate the message ?

    image.png

    2. It says the fax is currently not available.
How can I deactivate the fax ?

    image.png

    3. How can I change this settings of the zoom size to metric ?

    image.png

4.When I put something on the glass plate to scan, it does not recognize the correct format.
How can I fix this ? Is it a problem because of nr. 3 we have metric size paper and with the wrong format it automatically runs into to the error.

It would be great if someone can help me, thank you verry much.
    Kind regards,

    Steffi

Looks like when the battery died the system has reverted completely back to factory.

To fix #3 and 4 - Service Mode -> System 1 -> Marketing Area -> Set this to Europe
Also, from the normal settings from the screen: Utility -> User Settings -> Measurement Unit Settings -> Set This to : mm (Numerical Value)

To fix #1 the B/W only I suspect the image units are overlife and the No Stop settings have reverted. To Fix:
Service Mode -> Enhanced Security (Stop - 0 - C when in Service) -> Life Stop Setting -> Set ALL to OFF

Once done, reboot into Trouble Reset : Turn Off machine using switch under door, Press and Hold "Reset" button and turn main switch back on and shut door while holding reset. A black dot will appear in the corner of the screen, once you see it: let go of Reset Button and when the screen appears, press "Trouble Reset" wait for it to say "OK" and then power off and back on the machine.

For the Fax error #2 I am unsure, make sure that in Service Mode -> System 2 -> Option baord Status that Fax 1 and 2 are UNSET but verify if the machine has a fax kit installed before changing these settings. IF you set these to UNSET and there is a Fax Kit plugged in you will get a C Code when the device boots, be careful.

I would also Check that Service Mode -> System 2 -> HDD is set to INSTALLED. WARNING: If you set this to installed YOU WILL get "Animimation Guide Unavailable - Please contact service rep" Error on your display once you reboot the machine. Some of the other techs here are very helpful and can provide you the Movie Data file and insttructions on how to install this. Again, do not mess with this setting unless you know exactly what you are doing.

        Good morning,

first of all, thank you all for your help. 😊
for what is the initial setup ?

The problem nr. 3 is fixed, but something weird is going on, the Zoom size is now correct on the display, but it says he cant find a fitting paper and brings again the wrong size.
Somehow there is still a wrong setting somewhere.

        Kind regards,

After fixing Nr. 1 und 3 and the trouble reset, another strange thing happend.

It's like the bizhub is going into a sleep mode. No change to wake him up and see the display on the touch panel. And in the network when I wanna print something its written the printer is offline.

Only when I turn the printer off and on again he is back.

How could that be I only fixed Nr.1 set this to europe and nr.3 life stop setting everything offline and then trouble reset.

is user settings set to metric?
7.1.5 Measurement Unit Settings (1) Use

            • To select the unit displayed on the LCD display.

            (2) Default setting

            • The default setting varies depending on the marketing area.

            (3) Setting item

            • mm (Numerical Value)

            • inch (Numerical Value)

            • inch (Fraction)

even though the marketing area is europe, id check this setting just in case.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
            The medication helps though...

Not waking from sleep is a classic Bizhub issue.
I think there is a bulletin for it. Not at my desk just now, but I think you need to go into Service Mode -> Sleep Choice Permit -> Allow. Then you log into the web interface and Disable sleep completely in the power/timer settings section. Also make sure weekly timer is set to OFF.

                From one of our colleagues:

Re: Lost in the Power Settings hell

There was a bulletin, many moons ago,

                Adjust the following settings:

[Admin Mode] > [System Setting] > "Power Supply / Power Save Settings" :

                1) On page 1 - Touch "Enter Power Save Mode" - and select "Normal"
                2) On page 2 - Touch "Power Consumption in Sleep Mode" - and select "Disabled"

I have always set up every machine with these settings. This was because machines weren't "waking up"

That's cool, sometimes there's a chance for bad luck because a faulty battery can brick the mfp board and/or SSD board due to data corruption. Not shure why the dealer rufused to help afterwards but it seems things are already sorted out.

                        One new issue:

If I put something on the glass to copy and take it away and close the lid , the printer thinks there is still something on the glass to make a copy. Can I adjust the sensitivity ? So that the printer doesn't always think there's something on the glass pane.
It's a bit annoying when you want to copy something through the indentation, it always says there's something on the glass plate.

I figured out If I close the lid very slowly it works and the printer doesn't notice that something is on the glass plate and works normal. But not always.

The usual cause of this is either dirty white plate (The large white area on underside of ADF that covers the glass) or the ADF height needs to be adjusted as it's too close to the glass. Since you were able to correct the problem by closing it slowly, I'd say the the ADF needs to be adjusted to sit slightly higher.
