    c284e vs. O365 Scan-to-Mail

Hi there, one of our customers uses different KM's (some c300i / one C284e). According to the job log since a few days the old C284e refuses scan to mail function (smtp error 107), it has the latest FW and all TLS versions enabled, proper date/time, DNS/IP config. C300i units still works using the same smtp account. My bet is that MS might have changed something or liftet the requirements somehow but I couldn't find any "proof" regarding this topic on IT newssites/google. Do you guys know more?

I'm gonna pass this to sales anyways but I'd have a better feeling having some confirmation/intel about the Cxx4e series compatibility so perhops one of you guys can shed some light on the topic.

What firmware and function version is the C284e on?

What "server" is set as the relay? smtp.office365.com or the instance specific one?

Also FYI, on September 1st Microsoft is going to be turning off non-oauth authentication for smtp.office365.com.

Thank you guys, customer ordered a new C300i

@Duplicator: I don't know the exact FW version but my own people checked it and confirmed it's the latest one.

@Synthohol: I think the customers O365 account setting is OK since the existing C300i are using the same one or is it possible that O365 does now prevent "account sharing". Still 2 existing C300i are working with the same account.

Do you get an error? What happens when it "doesn't work", what does it do instead?

The log only says "deleted because of an error" and the error code is 107

DNS servers can change or fail. Make sure you can ping something like www.google.com (or any dns name) from the copier to verify your DNS settings are correct.

In some cases we have found that the copier can look up the AAAA record and tries to use an IPv6 address when the customer has no such ability on their network. Sometimes disabling IPv6 in an IPv4 environment fixes it.

In our part of the world we have found that it randomly fails with that 107 code even when the account is good when smtp.office365.com is used. I would start by verifying that the account is still active, the password didn't expire, the password didn't change, and licensed at Microsoft and if possible move to the org specific mx endpoint. We have found that that works better than smtp.office365.com.

^ option 2 at that link

Time can also be an issue if it isn't correct. We setup the time adjustment setting (NTP) to use time.windows.com on an automatic interval to get rid of that problem.

Also remember September 1st of this year Microsoft is supposed to be disabling SMTP auth in favor of o-auth.

Funny we had the same code so good to know it's really most like related to the MFP. Check the account on a newer product (C308/C300i), I think it will work.

Try to leave only TLS 1.2 available under SSL/TLS Version Setting
