i hate network nazis, fwiw the easy solution is everyone scan to a flash drive take it back to their desk and email it from your computer. plain and simple. you did not alter the email capabilities, M$ did.
i suppose being retired gives me another perspective when im not in the thick of it.
if networking standards change beyond the capabilities of the equipment, its not the copiers fault nor is it yours. (unless you sold a decade old machine to them recently)
        so why bend over backwards?
in 1996 leaded gas was banned in the US, so your 1960/pre 1975s engines would then knock and ping excessively. you can complain to the manufacturer and your local gas pumper all you want but its not their fault nor are they compelled to do anything about it because the standard changed across the globe.
in my eyes its the same thing.

with SMB 2.0 and 3.0 and the latest email security standards its becoming less "turn the wrench" and more "pound the keyboard" to fix problems or put a bandaid on a broken arm.
once the copier has reached its planned obsolescence the mfg could care less about making it future proof. its now a leaded engine car in a super unleaded world.

i hope contracts are now written to include a clause about global technology standards changes you cannot be held liable from as the machine was sold while that technology was the standard.
buyers remorse should not be sellers regret.

        i know im ranting, sorry.

        The medication helps though...

I have been using this as a fix for the 4e series. About a dozen machines email scanning to 0365 stopped working. KB article KB0026475. I have fixed 8 so far and will visit others next week. Hope this helps.

The MFP will indicate Server connection Error Code 107 when trying to scan
CAUSE: If SMBv2 and SMBv1 are both enabled on the MFP, the MFP will send negotiations to the SMB server, listing all SMB versions that the MFP is able to communicate with. Some SMB servers may be to reject any requests from an SMB client that sends a request to negotiate via SMBv1, whether or not SMBv2 is also included in the negotiation.

SOLUTION: Make the following Software Switch change to enable the use of SMB v2 only on the MFP.
          1. Select Counter
          2. Select Display Keypad
          3. Press Stop 00. Stop 01
          4. If applicable input CE password 9272 four times (Default)
          5. Select System 2
          6. Select Software Switch Settings
          7. Set Switch No. to 219
          8. Set HEX Assignment to 04
          9. Press Fix
          10. Press End
          11. Press Exit
          12. Power MFP OFF/ON

Oh don't even get me going.... We are being asked to support many Bizhub 200s/222s/ect....and make the scan to email work securely....That have been on support contracts for up to 15 years in some cases...

Best solution is to create SMTP virtual relay with App Password office365 or Gmail
