    A3 i series C2155, C2152 error codes

Machine in question C550i with 20k counter.
Was giving intermittently these codes mostly C2155.
    Trouble type
    • C2152: Transfer belt fault at initial position return
    • C2155: Transfer belt contact fault after K pressure established
Cleaned PS39 from inside wasn't dirty at all. Swapped ITB with another machine's one no error for now but I suspect it may came back.
ITB was visually intact retract system working fine no broken parts.
There was no time for checking wiring and load check so we will go back not on the end of the day.

Anyone seen clutch on these bad or even worse boards?

Seen this a few times but on the 8 series, it was the retraction clutch. Replacing this resolved the issue.

Indeed, in the 4 and 8 series this clutch failed, but not as soon as in the “i” series, also the doubt is that you change one itb for another, even if it is not new, and it stops failing, which does not make sense, because if the clutch fails it will continue to do so, so my comment

So far after swapping ITBs BOTH machines are running fine. Go figure that.

I know we've had the same situation a few times as well. We've replaced the belt and the code never returns again. Sometimes if the belt is still within it's usable life we will just remove and reinstalling the current belt and the code clears and never comes back.

We have only had one machine where even a new belt wouldn't fix it. It was a C458, and are certain that it would have needed a clutch. It happened to be at one of the very few machines where the customer was not under a maintenance contract, and they elected not to fix the machine.

I had a C360 doing this because the transfer waste had backed up, and was blowing toner all over of the sensor that detected the retraction. The previous tech had replaced the transfer belt three times, but never looked at the spout (in this case PS39).
