They yanked it out of Windows 11 last I checked.

Scanning to a flash drive is probably the most easy way to go here.

However, if a flash drive just isn't avaliable it is possible to setup a scan to a userbox then host it over SMB with the copier as the SMB server. Then on the PC if needed we add a USB -> ethernet adapter. Give both static IPs with no gateway. Finally setup the SMB connection in Windows so it shows up as the S: driver or whatever letter. It's really clunky.....but does work.

Thanks for that through explanation which makes sense. If I had the time and opportunity to visit all the sites then that could work, however I'd really need to set something up remotely. tI'm thinking as you suggest it may just be the case of posting flash drives to all sites.

If the customer is on a Windows PC, there is a built-in application called Windows Fax and Scan that is available on Windows 10 and older. It may also be available on Windows 11, but I have no experience with that. It can be accessed through the Start menu and then under Windows Accessories, or if you type fax into the search bar it should be the first thing that comes up.

While I've never used it, it can access a scanner that has the proper TWAIN driver installed. Have them give that a go and see if it works for them.

I seem to remember trying this, but it wouldn't recognise the Konica Twain driver so tried the Microsoft Scan App which seems to be the latest version of the same. However same result unfortunately. I'm pretty sure the driver KM offer says in the readme that it only supports win ver 8 and below, so could be a lost cause.
I was hoping someone much smarter than me may have found a third party tool they may have got it to work on.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
I'm not aware how to set that up, but I regularly setup SMB but via ethernet only. Do you recall any of the steps whatsoever, so I can perhaps figure it out?
There is only one network point in each office, which is for their PC only but the network is not theirs and the owner doesn't like having the printer sat on their network even though I enable IP filtering. So I'm stuck with USB only unfortunately.

We have previously plugged a laptop directly into a C458, can't remember if it was directly into the USB port at the front or not, but we had it scanning directly to a folder on the laptop using SMB - a customer had a massive scan job, that was urgent, they rented four copiers from us, it was only when we delivered them, they told us they had no network, they didn't want to print only scan, they shared 1 laptop between the 4 devices, they had to take it in turn to scan . If they have a network, but no ethernet port, what about a wireless bridge, that the copier plugs into .

Good day all!
I have a customer that have increasingly connected their A4 bizhub's via USB, where ethernet has not been possible.
This prevents a fair bit of useful functionality such as remote panel for remote support, but more importantly they cannot scan to their PC. USB thumb drive is an option, but not the best workflow for something they want to do daily.

Does anyone have any other workaround, or is there a tool that can be used to pull scans using a TWAIN driver.
I've tried and failed so far to find any software that supports it.
