    About Bizhub Pro Filters

    Hello masters.

There is something I'm curious about. What kind of problems will we encounter if we continue without changing the filters in the machines when they expire? I would appreciate it if you could give me information about this.
    Thanks

    they will dramatically explode.
are you as a tech, really asking that question?
i mean no hostility, im just really surprised anyone would ask.

toner filters should be cleaned and or replaced regularly so the machine can breathe and properly collect misting toner during the transfer process so it wont collect all inside the machine and help circulation to parts that need the airflow to stay cool.
the ozone filters will help prevent headaches and other health issues from over exposure to ozone made from glowing coronas and the smell of it.

not changing or at least vacuuming the toner filters is the first step in destroying a machine.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

I am a novice technician , it is nice to learn new information from good and knowledgeable masters. The situation in the photos you sent is also the same with my c1060 machine, and there is a constant toner smell. I will change the filters immediately. Thank you.

if i remember there are 2 screws in the rails you can remove and the process unit will come out further so you can get in there with a yellow wipe and clean all that up.
there are sensors on that bar you can lift the flap and use a brush or air.

It doesn't apply to production machines but this jig slides in to where filter goes in to clean out the duct work on most KM office machines. Just slid it in an hold your vacuum hose to the end of it. Part number A5C0PJG000

You also need to change the consumables when due especially the developers or the machine will run dirty also

So I went down the rabbit hole on this one because our color machines cyan dev assys kept depleting prematurely. There's a tech bulletin on it somewhere.

So basically what happens is this: Air filters weren't being replaced - > no air flow - > cyan duct first to clog -> cyan drum charge gets dusted -> sucks all the cyan developer out.

Change your dang filters! like Markks Posted, I have that jig too. because the other option isn't fun.

If it's dusted that bad in there, before you put it all back together, take a good look at the ducts. If they're clogged, you'll want to address that before you get it all back together.

I use it for a couple of years. It does it's job.
We remove all stuff - drums, devs, belt from front side before using it. We also used long tube with straw in front to air spray with some blower from front side air vents.

                      Two things to watch.
                      1. Works on 45+ppm machines.
                      2. Doesn't fit INTO regular/standard toner vacuum hose because of same size you should hold them together firmly to not loose suction or just use some tape.

I've used it on the c3320i also . It has the same size filter as the bigger machines

that tool is cool for MFPs to vacuum but production machine filters look like this:

you can take them apart and vacuum the filter plates at least.
but that attachment wont do much in a 3" hole!

I know , that's what I said. Taking apart and vacuuming these filters is very messy , I just replace the unit , but have vacuumed before in a pinch

Same size filter doesn't mean ventilation system is the same. Parts guide doesn't list any i-series machine only 4, 4e and 8, 8e series monochrome and colour range from 45-65 ppm.
