In order to get full support from this board you should support it. I think you will get most of what you need .👍 2 -
Hello.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone, that wasn't my intention.
On the contrary, I find the work of the technical services staff incredible, since these machines are super complex.
The complaint is about the technical service available in my region, since they have no interest in repairing my machine, since what they are trying to do is get me to buy one from them, hence my dissatisfaction.
The €387 they charged me was for installing the firmware from the USB, which I couldn't do because I don't have access to the necessary files, and they only had to travel 20 kilometers. The €387 is a rip-off, since it was only to install the firmware (I bought the MFP PWB new and changed it myself, it was only to install the firmware), but since their interest is not to repair it, I buy another one from them and keep it (to later repair it and sell it again, a disgrace).
That's why I'm fighting to get it repaired myself.... Is there no way to get the firmware anywhere? (The other machines I have, a Xerox and an OKi, I can change the firmware, update them and do everything without needing an official service and for free..)Leave a comment:

Thank you very much.
You mean this memory, not the eprom, right?
The only thing is that when I changed the main board, I called the official service people (who only want to sell me a machine, they have no interest in repairing it) since I have no possibility of getting the firmware for the machine, and they charged me 387€ just to install the firmware, and I refuse to pay them that amount again for something that I can do myself but I don't have the files to put them on a USB...
I understand that to change the eMMC you have to reinstall the firmware again, right?Leave a comment:

there is a whole PITA procedure for replacing that, do you want to try the diagnostic FW first?
also is the boot rom older than the FW? its a diff procedure to load that first if thats the case.Leave a comment:

I always hate it when people say something like this "they charged me 387€ just to install the firmware", it's not just to install the firmware, someone would have had to go on a training course for this model, it wasn't online, like a lot of courses now, this would have meant a weeks stay in a hotel, travel costs. they would also have access to bulletins, and manuals. They'd know that when you update the FW, the FV would also need updating, which an end user shouldn't be able to have access on their device to be able to do it. You don't say how far the official service have to travel, that may be taken into consideration.👍 2Leave a comment:

Good morning.
I'm sharing some information in case anyone can think of a clue to follow to resolve the problem.
Last Friday, I was trying several different things, including disabling the hard drive, inserting a USB and doing self-diagnosis tests (both the total and the independent one, but each test separately) and everything always came out correct (even one of the times with the defect present, the FA-14 I mean).
Well, there was a moment in the afternoon when it started to work correctly and it worked correctly for more than 4 hours. I left it on stand-by until the next day because I didn't want to turn it off to see if it was still working the next day and when I turned it on, the problem appeared again.Leave a comment:

Hello.
Thank you for the quick replies and for the help.
Unfortunately, the option of having the technical support service come is not going to be of much use, and that is what is leading me to the situation of trying to repair it myself. The maintenance person cannot do anything, according to him, and I am not willing to give up and lose the total value of the machine, since I have worked as a roboticist, and I think that everything is repairable (if there is the intention to do so).
The machine, by cancelling the hard drive, takes a few more minutes to resolve the defect (C-FA14), but in the end it resolves.
I attach an image where I think the firmware versions appearAttached FilesLeave a comment:

get a different tech to look at it . from your description it looks to be the machine blew the mfp board or at least scrambled the roms.Leave a comment:

Good morning everyone.
Thank you all very much for any help you can give me.
Let me introduce myself, my name is Oscar and I live in Palencia, Spain. I have had a printing shop for a year which had several machines, including a Konica Minolta Bizhub C658. Until a month ago, I was very happy with its operation, but one day, while it was on, there was a power failure in my town, which caused the machine to turn on and off several times quickly without ever starting up on any of these occasions. I turned it off and when the problem passed I turned it on normally. From that day on, I started getting the error message C-FA14, and several times I formatted the HD logically, and other times physically, and it seemed that the error went away for several days. This error got worse, to the point that the machine started up normally and when I made the first photocopy, I either waited a few minutes and then went off again, rendering the machine completely unusable. I got a hard drive with the same specifications and formatted it from the machine physically and then logically and the problem persisted, so I decided to buy a new unused PWMF motherboard and replace it.
As I am not an official service and I do not have access to the firmware, I hired the official service to do the procedure that must be done on that first start, to put firmware, etc., but after this, the defect continues. The people at the official service, unfortunately, are more interested in selling me another multifunction than in fixing this one and they do not seem to know what else to do. Please, if you could help me try to repair it since I do not have access to the firmware files that would allow me to try more things myself, and I am also a bit blocked not knowing what else to do.
Thanks for the helpTags: None👍 1
