    C250i secure print

Off lease machine. Initialized & settings gone through like I usually do. Everything seems turned off on machine side, but "secure print" is showing in driver for output method, grayed out so can't change. I have an older PC in shop so use universal driver which works fine with other "i" series I've tested. Also a box was popping up when selecting print asking for credentials.
Stupid question, does the copier change the driver automatically to "secure print"? Weird because I didn't change anything on driver side and like I mentioned this same universal driver works for other "i" series tested.
    Thanks in advance

what happens in the print driver, if you go to "Configure", then "Obtain Device Information" , "Obtain Settings" - will that clear it. Also, in "Obtain Settings" , turn off "Auto" this will allow you to change items in "Device Option"
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

also check IP/port, that WSD nonsense is as reliable as condoms made by a porcupine.

        The medication helps though...

Post revised, Update: I ended up formatting HDD, re-installed latest FW, initialized again and son of a bitch all good! Sucks not knowing what it was but glad it's printing now. The picture was before I did the format, etc.
          Thanks again for the replies

By any chance did you change the function version as part of that process? The function version can play a huge role on some models on how it reports the accessories over SNMP to the print drivers.

I attach a file of mine to always activate protected printing. You verify that these menus are NOT active.
Sorry if the file is in Italian, but this is a file generated by me and not by user manuals or technicians
                I hope it helps you.
                bye
