    Konica C558 PAT test failed

    Hi all

One of our C558 has just failed the pat test with a leakage 1.22mA....

I havent been to site yet but they say thay have tested with different power cables with the same result.

They have tested Class 1 and Class 2...

Has anybody had experience with this kind of issue?

    TIA

what is the neutral to ground voltage at the wall?
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

anything more than 0v may cause the test failure.
more than .5 volt can cause false codes/jams.
now that these machines only use 3v instead of 5v at some sensors, 1v through neutral/ground only give a 2v reference to the change and sometimes not enough to trigger the sensor resulting in a jam or SC.
when machine ran 5v, they were more tolerant to voltage fluctuation, now not so much.

            Thanks

I forgot to say that the printer is fully functional...

Some ' interesting ' reading for you here jonbonse: https://www.pat-testing-training.net...ge-current.php (assuming that it's the U.K. "oxford" in your profile...)

                Thanks ThisPete

I stumbled across this yesterday... I can only assume the limit on their Pat tester is using an old version say 0.75mA for the Substitute Leakage test.....i will check this when I go tomorrow.....

                Oh, yes Oxford UK

I remember on a Sharp copier training course, many many moons ago, this subject was brought up in the classroom, the instructor said that copiers shouldn't be/didn't need to be PAT tested. I had to go to a customer a few years ago, they had loads of shredders, and they decided to send one of their staff to be trained to do all of their PAT testing on everything in their office. I then got called in to check their shredders, as "they'd all failed their PAT tests". It was clear the person who did the training hadn't a clue what he was talking about. I insisted they got someone in who was "properly" trained, and yes....everything was passed after that
