Hello All,
I recently picked up a KM BizHub 423 that I'm looking to refurbish for a friend.
I've done some initial testing and here are a few things I've noticed thus far:
I've tracked down the Service Manual and have been looking through there, but I was hoping you could all help start me out with suggestions on what items to inspect/clean/lubricate/replace as part of the refurbishment to get it back into fighting shape! I was going to start new threads for the Fuser and Fax issues as I begin to work on those.
I'm new to working on MFPs but always like to learn new things (even on older tech) so at this point I don't know what I don't know, but I'm looking forward to the project and getting educated.
Let me know what you might need to know to help me out and I'll do my best to get you the information you need.
Thanks for the help!

I recently picked up a KM BizHub 423 that I'm looking to refurbish for a friend.
I've done some initial testing and here are a few things I've noticed thus far:
- Paper feeds through the paper trays and through the ADF just fine - no jams or misfeeds - even when duplex scanning/printing.
- Prints work well, but have a horizontal band across them. Based on what I've read here, that is likely to be caused by worn fuser roller. The stripes I see on the page do align perfectly with the worn areas I see on the roller. I've already ordered a replacement to rebuild the fuser.
- Faxes are very flakey. Sending faxes works most of the time, but it has issues receiving faxes reliably due to a 'protocol error'. I've also encountered a few B116 Errors when attempting to send faxes. I'm using the fax on a VoIP line (Spectrum Internet, Google Voice with an Obi-200 ATA device)
