Re: Transfer local auth users from C454E to C308
I’m currently using a Konica Minolta C454E. I have a total of 1.000 users registered on the machine. I bought a new used Konica Minolta C308. I would like to transfer the local users to the new machine. However, it seems like the two machines are not compatible. When I use the Konica Minolta data administrator program. I get the error message” cannot continue restoring because the device is different” when trying to restore authentication settings. Is there a way to transfer the users from my old machine to the new machine? Can the data be converted so it’s compatible with the new machine?
I’m also looking for a smarter way to handle the user authentication. I’m currently have local users registered on the machine. All the users have a max allowance. I then create “printing cards” with the login details and sell the cards in the local shop. I’ve been looking for other solutions. However, they seem to be expensive and third-party software. I can do some programming myself. However, I’m not a professional. It would be nice with a external setup where the users are not stored on the local machine.
Yes this can be done via USB pen drive.
Here's a video I found for you.

If you don't have the External memory tab change SW72 to HEX 04 in service mode.Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

2nd part I'm not sure I understand..are you creating login badges with preset copy limits on them or are you just pre associating a badge with a account already established?Comment

Re: Transfer local auth users from C454E to C308
Thank you for all the replies. I can not see it the external memory function. So I guess I need to change the software version. I've not tried to change the software version before. As i see it. There is three input fields. What should i put in the other fields?
About the userdatabase. I create a user locally on the printer and then sit a limited allowance. I then put the user details on a print card. So what I need is a solution where I'm able to create a users with a limited allowance. It seems like there is a lot the third-party software. However, they seem pretty expensive. Maybe some of you have some experience with external userdatabase.Comment

Re: Transfer local auth users from C454E to C308
hi, you have to enable the function in the technical department,
soft switch 72 hex 04, fix, then in administrator settings,
page 2 you will find backup memory, press export, select the files you want to transfer, type a password, also 1234, start.
on the new machine you will have to press import, password and start.
sorry for my bad englishComment

Re: Transfer local auth users from C454E to C308
It seems like everything was alright. However, when I export the user data It only takes the username, password, and max allowance. It does not include the current balance (print that have already been done). I need the current counter to be included. Does anyone have any suggestions?
My next idea would be taking a backup with the Data Administrator tool. It saves it as a bin file that is encrypted with the password I set. I know this include the current balance. Does anyone know how to extract the data from a bin file that is encrypted?Comment
