    BizHub C224e

Machine lost settings due to the dead battery issue. I had good machine so took MFP board with good battery to swap out. I used the original SSD, HDD & memory and transferred to good MFP board. Was not able to get into service mode to backup settings, etc before using the reset F/W.
After using the reset F/W I went through the installation setup, input serial #, time, etc.
Thought everything was good when it printed a perfect demo page. But when I went to copy the config page from ADF or off the glass the page is purple with garbled white marks where the print is supposed to be. Reseated all connections on the MFP board, did gradation adj, etc. Nothing fixed issue.
See attached pics of purple page & good demo page. Again printing to machine is fine, only copying & scanning has purple issue.

    Thanks for any help.

Dude lately you come here with some surreal issues...
My sympathy goes with any tech working hard for his/her family.
As always when anything seems lost I would do clear all data (might not help with your issue but just in case). Another thing is to check scan/copy settings versus default values and if something is way off to try corrections.
In any way good luck 🤞

I've never seen a defect like this just when changing the logic board.
Did the scanner work correctly with the board that failed?
When connecting the scanner cable, none of the flat threads bent?

Thanks for your well wishes. I can handle most service calls. The only time I need to post here for help is when there are strange "surreal" issues I've never seen before or can't find any answers with my other resources.

Bad thing is that when self employed like me you can't leave these things at the office and forget about them. They are with you all the time until fixed!

        Best of luck to you

You are right I've never seen it before and why I posted here. The customer used scanner day before and when came in next morning there was a strange code. When I showed up is when I noticed the meters were at 0, etc. Then I knew battery was dead.

First thing I did when i saw this defect was check and reseat all connectors i removed to replace MFP pwb. Specifically checked scanner ribbon cable and reseated.

Wouldn't putting a new battery in the old board solve the problem?
In theory, the battery serves to maintain settings that the user has made on the machine.
So by doing this you can reinstall the card and see if the scanner problem persists.

The worst that can happen is that you waste time removing one and welding the other.

Of course I know that you are experienced tech after being there for so long. Maybe I didn't make my statement clear but it wasn't at all against something you did or said , contrawise I admire you share such strange problems with other techs so when it happens somebody else again we can be warned.

It's not that easy to replace battery. This is first battery I've had go bad so didn't have new one to solder in. The quick fix was to take MFP from working machine and swap out like i've done many times without issue. The board would have to come out to solder a new battery anyway. My plan was to take original board with bad battery back to shop order some batteries from digi-key, and keep board for next machine with bad battery.
Doesn't make sense to de-solder "used" battery from a good working MFP and put into a MFP that has already lost all prior settings.

yes check to see if the duplex side is doing the same thing. Also check LED exposure to make sure its lighting up, seems to me its not getting light to the page to aluminate your copy and so its getting you a nice purple. LED exposure is a ribbon cable LU201. You can do a non image area test in service mode would show you if that is turning on properly. try doing a memory check too and see if there is any issues there

this looks like poor connection to the ccd /scanner drive board. i assume internal gradation patterns look fine.

Update: Customer needed to scan so I replaced the machine. Taking the machine with issue back to shop where I can dive into it a little deeper. Will report back with fix.

Or try this easy fix seen here:
