[Error Code] Re: FS-532 - finisher door open message

I have a 951 with the FS-532 finisher. It has recently started showing an open door message that we can't clear.
My tech seems to think it needs a new board (which is no longer available from Konica)

Just wondering if he's trying to spur purchase of new equipment (I know the 951 is getting a little old, but this one has under 3,000,000 on the meter and looks brand new in almost every respect.

Would love to hear opinions on this. I'm assuming he checked the door switch & sensor -- anything else I should look for? Is there a way to wire around these door sensors / switches?

I have a FS-532 board if you need one. Sometimes you just have to reform the leaf the activates the switch.

So you don't trust your technician? If not perhaps you should find a tech that you trust. It's salesman that you shouldn't trust not technicians!

Your tech is telling you the truth and machine was deemed "end of life" by kon / min 9/23 (see attached). What this means is copier is no longer supported by Kon/Min and at some point parts will be hard to get. So bottom line is the machine is not "getting a little old" but is OLD, 10+ years old to be exact! And 3 mil on meter is a lot for an older machine, it wouldn't be a lot if copier was a few years old but not for a 10+ yr old model.

      Good luck

the tech could look at the wiring diagram and see which ICP fuse and wires are for that circuit and ohm it out.
the switch should just have 24v to it and the switch works?
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.

"Close Finisher Door" message, FS-532. Finisher door upper hinge is loose because 3mm screws are stripped. Enduser responds by slamming the door until the photointerrupter is broken. Re-tap the finisher door upper hinge screws to 4mm threads. Replace the finisher door photointerrupter. =^..^=

My service tech has replaced multiple wiring harnesses, the main board, some sensors and switches.
Our service company finally brought out another tech from Konica Minolta -- they spent several hours, and finally gave up. Guess I'm now looking for a used FS-532 finisher.

I have an FS-532 here but it doesn't have the SD or Booklet option if you are interested. Pulled from recently (yesterday) retired 951.

Why you dont do what i am telling you? Same problem happened to me and problem was that in the stepper motor on the SD enter somehow waste of staples , motor was damaged. We change it and all working fine. I know sound crazy that problem is stepper motor, but error is open door, but this is real experience. Same motor you can find in other models Bizhubs, we took it from bizhub 420 for spares.

It a strange thing about advice. Once an idea gets lodged in some peoples heads, they cannot listen to advice. All you can do is offer your wisdom, and hope that some of it will seep in.

I don't fret about that much anymore. I've taken too many phone calls that go:

                          " ... but it can't be that!!"
                          "Why not?"
                          "It just can't be!!"
                          "Did you look?"
                          "... well, no ..."
                          "So look."

I sure appreciate your suggestion -- we just replaced that stepper motor, no luck. We then scoured the entire SD unit and replaced 2 more buried in there, but still no change.
