C308 printing black only

Haven't seen this before on 8 series. But think I've read on forums about this but couldn't find it. Customer called and said will print black only. Color drums are at 0% but all consumables / reminders are turned off in enhanced security mode, etc.

Is there a soft switch that needs to be set?

Customer is far away and would like to help them fix this issue over the phone so I can wait until next time there and will bring drums at that point.

Is there any message on machine screen? In your situation I would call them and ask for remote desktop then setup remote panel and see what is on machine screen and double check all CE settings etc.

I think any one Colour Toner is empty. please check all colour toner avaialable quantity in machin.

Sounds like the life stop setting for image units has been enabled.

Enter CE mode, then press stop 0 C this will take you to enhanced security mode where this this be turned off.

Thanks but like I mentioned in OP all consumable life settings including enhanced security mode have been turned off. I automatically do this with all off lease machines I sell.

sometimes there is a message in red that could help?
or they can logon and send a screenshot to you?

Sometimes it's a glitch. Even if every life setting is turned off it still doesn't print. Switching it off and back on resets it. Sounds simple but it does work sometimes.

With an 8 series machine consider yourself lucky that the drums even made it to yield. You might as well bite the bullet and install new ones, you will be getting a call soon with quality issues anyway.

I have surprisingly few of them making around 150% but those are odds and are in clients with low coverage and high volume. Other than that you are absolutely correct, after they reached 0% it's a matter of time.

I disagree with this. I have many devices with drums expired & the quality is still perfect.

They are run on genuine toner so I assume yours aren't.

I have worked on 8 series machines since their launch and the drums have never lasted much past yield, OEM toner or otherwise.

i was carrying 8-12 DR314s as trunk stock because they sucked so bad and machines only ever used oem supplies and parts.
the charge rollers are just pathetic IMHO.

313/315 i believe it's typo. 8 series low speed color office machines aren't bad at all IMHO.
We have a lot and most of them perform well under average usage. Those heavy used are our champs, I like Konica Minolta for that reason. You put them on stress and they just perform.

Came here to say this, I've come across this problem a handful of times on various models.

Re-enable all the life stop settings in service mode, tap End then back out to the ready to copy screen. Machine will probably be lit up like a christmas tree with all the warnings. Then back into service mode and disable all the warnings/life stop. Should be good then.

I've got quite a few machines out there, that the drums have done nearly 3 times their life, and the cq is fine
