    yes I have done that method too, remove toner filter on other model and blow out with can compressed air.

    Thanks for all the tips (and congrats on the new job )

    Guess I'll try to refill the depleted developer unit and replace the drum.
    Is there any way to confirm that it is actually the drum unit that is draining the developer?

    All of this stuff plus I tend to replace ozone filter and clean ducts after removal of drums, devs and belt. I also use Konica jig for vacuum cleaner whenever it's possible(higher speed machines).

    Agree the OP's photo shows a classic example of depleated developer. But the reason it depleated has to be addressed and that is usually an over life drum. That is the point I was trying to make.

    Repeat... you do NOT have to replace complete DV unit at $500 each! Just buy a bag of aftermarket cyan developer for $30, add around half a bag using a funnel while turning gear on end.

    I do recommend using "genuine" toners in all the Kon/Min color models.
