Re: I series premature fuser failure

I went away from generic toners (Katun/Toshiba were the worst) years ago and never looked back. I had a billable customer at a church and they're using generic toner and it took me a while to figure it out because I never use generics any more. For all the reasons listed above and so many more.

I agree Katun TN626K toners are rubbish - apparently to make their K toners work, you have to set fuser temp to -20, fuser speed to -20 and set warm up to mode 4 - why not just produce toners that work......
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

New Fuser for the I series is coming out Check out bulletin 13643. It is saying that a firmware update is required and is telling you to check and make sure curtain Engine DipSW are turned off and on, depending on the speed of the MFP. Hope this fixes the issues.

Just made a post about this. The bulletin is included in my post for those that want to check it out...

          NEW I-SERIES FUSERS
A Ricoh Service Tech for 7 year. A Konica Minolta Service Tech for 7 years. Now, KM service manager for 4 years.
My Ricoh knowledge is slowly dwindling away at this point. Many things have been lost to time...

Knowing KM modifications I'm not amused
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
