c3350i Back Door for Service Mode

Ok, client was moving the machine to a new location and reformatted the drive. Now it says to reformat or enter the encryption passkey. We can't get into service mode. Anyone know any back door way to get into service mode?

get to trouble reset screen and all it says is trouble reset and AES. Doesnt matter what digits i input. 9272927292729272 or 12345678 or 92729272, nothing works

While on trouble screen input stop-0-0-stop-0-1. Then log into service mode

Try to go into the administrator mode, there should be available only two options - "Format" and "Reset Encryption passphrase" as I remember.
Use the format there.

Ok, so go back to the service mode:
- on the input password screen press [stop]-[C]
- screen should transit to "CE Password Reset..."
- send me clear photo with SN, MAC Address and Request Code (you can use imgur, post link here, or send me PM)

OP should know the password and if its not his password it should just be the default one shouldnt it? so reset shouldnt be needed

This is true, but in the normal case, after formatting the drive (it doesn't matter whether from service mode or from the administrator menu), the only message the machine should show is that there is no movie data.

Another important point is that administrator mode is disabled - on previous generations of machines, after changing to a used drive taken from another machine, the message mentioned by the OP (reformat or reset encryption password) often appeared, but administrator mode with these two options was always available (after entering proper password).

We don't really know what happend to the machine during transport, or how exactly customer tried to format disk.

So the problem seems to be deeper and a password reset will not necessarily solve it.

Things I would try:
- run firmware update to see if the machine is able to write to disk (observe percent when uploading to MFP board) and repeat to see if it will go farther next time
- run boot diagnostic firmware
- run firmware update and invoke partition remove procedure, then upload firmware again (necessary step) to rebuild partition structure and all the data, after reboot, machine should start in recovery mode to make a backup of all necessary settings from SPI memory on CPU Board to hard disk

And that's for the beginning.

not for nothing, id just try inputting all zeros as the passphrase, its gonna format after that anyway.

Thanks all! Got into service mode via trouble reset screen and did a logical format then added movie data and changed admin password and now all good!
