    New bulletin 9132 is out(replaces 9103). Addresses the issue with a firmware tool that updates SSD board, and or tells you to replace board. All new machines shipped as of 2/10/14 should have updated SSDB on machine (blue dot on side, white dot on board).

    We shall see I guess.

    Looks like its a power/sleep mode issue. Which is what I suspected in the first place. The bulletin9103 was updated to change settings for power consumption in sleep mode, after we replaced the part.

    i'm told the latest f/w does not fix the boot up/cycling issue.......but something is on its way

    I can confirm this. We have rolled out a large number of e machines ranging from C224e to C654e. We've had a handful that have either had "preparing scan/fax" message never dissapearing, but that's about it. None of ours have had SSD boards fail yet (knock on wood).

    This is the latest FW version in The UK as of 27 Jan 2014, G20-C8, having a read I see it does address many issues.

    I don't see this firmware here in the US. Also I usually get information emailed direct from KM when they release these things. What site do you see such firmware.

    We only have one with this problem. But we have a handful in the field(knock on wood) with no issue. According to the bulletin, fw should be released in a few days to correct the problem.

    Yes... Unfortunately the 4th machine in 2 weeks time now with SSD problem... All C284e machines were the new type with single beam laser-units with GD1-A9 firmware installed.... Could someone share the release notes of the new C8 firmware, it's not available yet in my language...

    The latest firmware is available for the complete E series so should be applied asap.
