I see your shim ... now that I look more closely. Let us know that it's successful. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
I did the rebuild with the optical sensor just before Christmas. make sure you keep track of which wire goes where. theres 2 that can be swapped with bad results. In al lit took me roughly 4 hours to complete and i have had no issues since. though i do recommend that once the new sensor is in place to keep blowing any dust out of it when you visit since.. well you will see.
I have similar code 6510. What happens with the machine I was looking at the last sheet of the stack doesn't get pulled back in straight so the top sheet isnt stapled to the rest then exits skewed which then causes a jam at the stapler or a jam for the next set.
8353ci, they are using pretty shoddy paper just curious if this mod would help my machine. Did you guys what have the same issue with paper not getting pulled back in usually always the last sheet?

If you are getting the 6510 jam and you have the old style sensor then yes, follow bulletin H020.
I can't say that I had the exact same symptom but close enough. In general it is a bundle eject problem.
I agree with Nathicana. I would be surprised that the updates weren't already on a 3 series machine/finisher, unless it sat in a warehouse for a while.
You can also check the little gray rubber flappers, they are square when new. If they get a lot of pages on them, they taper and don't pull back in very well.

Machines done about 600k are they easy to replace?
Next time I go I'll check if it's got all those mods.
One of our guys has successfully done the shim-trick that was successful for tmaged. =^..^=

The rubber paddles are pretty easy to replace. Just pull the top of the finisher off and you can clip them in.
The shim I made seems to work fine. You can use foam pads that have 2 sided tape, that you would use for furniture.
I've got a new CS 4053ci with about 30K on it throwing the 6510 jam code (4000 Sheet Finisher Installed). We actually see this jam code a lot and a few others like J6110 on these finishers. Sometimes the paper will be folded in half too. I'm thinking about trying the simple sensor shim mod mentioned in this post. Our tech rep also mentioned that wire ties can sometimes cause this from being too tight on the signal wires to the stepper motors. Anyway, I thought I would see if anyone is still experiencing these jam codes and how well the mods are working for them after being applied.

I highly doubt that it does. It came in new and installed back in October after being back ordered for 4 months. I'm going to check it out today. Does the mod still work if it has the newer style push sensor on it?

I have witnessed the paper folded in half on half a dozen DF 7120 finishers over the years, but it is so intermittent I have never been able to pinpoint the issue.
