    Re: Charge rollers...

This is a MC-8705 with one of those lumps biopsied. Note how the rubber is burned/absent from the surface of the metal core, but not through to the surface where the lump is. Anecdotally, this is caused by corrosion of the surface of the metal core.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Was the update designed for the bumps or for lines?

One would think both issues were solved.

Yep, just replaced one on a 6052ci for bumps. It really takes 5-6 years to resolve this ?
          Hope that helps !

What is even worst is that they are back ordered. Kyocera needs to get there shit together.

In Australia we've been told to use MC-8720 charge rollers in place of the MC-8705. Too early to tell but they seem to last longer.

They changed the foam/felt cleaning roller underneath for a spiraled foam cleaning roller.

Yeah that's the one. I know they look different but that's what they told us use.

Just changed an MC-8720 on an 8052ci for lines, i cleaned it and the lines came back in 50 copies machine has 263k in color, had to replace it with another 8720 it was the cyan, i checked the others and they all seemed fine had faint lines on the rollers but didnt show on copies im hoping its just an anomaly..but i fear the worse

You mean that you fear nothing has changed. I suspect that you are correct.

I also suspect that it's a patent issue. All the really effective designs are already patented, and Kyocera would have to pay a licensing fee to use those designs. =^..^=

But the charge rollers in the 250ci-500ci didn't have near the problems. The firmer material seemed to last much better IMO.
                          Hope that helps !

I just wish we could get them. We have had charge rollers for 4550ci ordered for two weeks. They are on back order. I am not sure when they will be in.
