    [CQ] Kyocera ecosys M6535

I have a M6535 in a restaurant office. We get calls because machine is leaving black lines and spots on copies/prints. I have cleaned drum and charge roller on numerous occasions with good, but not long lasting, effects. Other than a new drum unit, is there something else that can be done that might go a little longer than 2 weeks. Thanks.

    Are they using OEM supplies?

Have you tried replacing the drum unit in the past?

What's the total count on the machine and on the drum unit?

My guess is it's time to replace a drum unit, it's definitely cheaper than the labor involved with cleaning it every two weeks but if they're using after-market supplies you'll need to replace the DV unit and the toner at the same time or your problem will return.

Based on your post with VERY little information, the most likely problem is the charger roller. However ,if memory serves me correctly the cost difference between the Cr and drum isn't much.So just replace the drum assy .
P.S. is the unit still under warranty?

        Cheers..

If image quality matters at all to you, you should go copier shopping.

Charge rollers have been an ongoing issue on most Kyoceras. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Update the firmware & the maintenace kits work out cheaper than buying idiviual drums.

The transfer belt unit in this engine cause most CQ issues.

Aside from parts replacement, I clean the charge rollers with liquid Turtle Wax (for cars). Doesn't hurt quality and it takes much longer to get contaminated.

I prefer Nu Finish... but to each their own!

hmmm in a restaurant office? whats the environment in there? most I have been in 1) HUMID Greasy and some had chemicals in them..
***ALL bad for ANY laser based life form ***
                  2) Constant traffic in the room
                  3) some allow smoking in the office
                  4) OEM supplies?
                  5) Type/Condition of paper?
If you can pull charge rlr.. clean with Nu Finish Car Polish (orange&black Bottle) Might take several applications and buffing.. when roller is evenly shiny across..yer good.
