    Kyocera Taskalfa Console Machines

I have found several of these machines with gaps in the rollers (assist) on the pf units causing jams. Kyocera hasn't released a fix for this other than to say stretch the spring. The roller is visible when you open the right convey side and look at the exit of the feed unit. You will see a gap between the white and grey rollers. Just a heads up if you haven't seen this already!

For the last 5 years or so I've been installing stronger springs at those idler rollers. There's been a bulletin since 2011, see attached:

    Gaia Paper Skew.JPG

3mm paper skew mainly from tray #1, but other trays too. Inadequate spring pressure at the (4) assist pulleys. Standard spring is 5.5mm diameter coils, 9mm uncompressed length. Center assist pulley has adequate spring pressure. For two trays install (8) longer springs 5.5 to 6.0mm diameter coils, 17mm uncompressed length ([8] 302K929780 spring, [8] 2FM04150 cap).

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

On the log was 0519 and 0000 the customer complaint was the machine would just stall and sit in "processing" the would power it off after it started this and have the jam. It seemed more like it was a paper delay issue and changing the spring tension resolved it. The Bulletin BlackCat posted uses the new style springs which are about 5mm to short, I found some of the older style springs and if used without the plastic caps work very well for this. 302F925780.
        Thanks!
