[CQ] Kyo TA 4551 Prints logo w/ bleed over from computer

Resized_20210522_1203281.jpeg The logo on the back is the computer screen and the lower one is the paper printed. If you look close on the lower page you can see bleed over on the logo. Looks to me like pixels that are a slightly different color. Customer is printing in Black and White on the copier and says the settings are right on the print driver. I am headed there Monday. I cleaned this machine yesterday did toner curve, color reg, cleaned optics, charge rollers and customer said was working fine until I messed with it. Any help is very appreciated...

Try a different application or another electronic original. No, it's not always the printers fault.

In fact quite often defects in the original electronic image are not visible on your LCD computer screen until you enlarge them quite a lot or examine the original under ColorPic.

I'm not even going to get into the topic of how an RGB computer monitor will never look exactly like a CMYK laser print. There are quite a lot of threads on this.

I had one customer ask me to please lighten up the prints, because a single piece of artwork in their proprietary software has heavy background on prints.
"I just want to be sure on this ... you want every print and copy lighter?"
"No, just ones from the proprietary software .. and only the part of the page that has the dark artwork."
It was really hard not to laugh out loud.

When I explained that would not be possible, the manager just laughed: "They called you out for that? You can't fix that!"
"I surely cannot, and thank you for saying so.." =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I agree with Blackcat. We replaced a Sharp MX4501N with a 4551ci. The customer complained that the Kyocera was printing blurry prints.
I xoomed in on their artwork, and there was garbage around the logo. The Sharps resolution wasn't good enough to pick up, but the Kyocera did.
      Hope that helps !

The customer called and said he found a workaround. I will meet up with them at some point to see if I can help things go smoother. Thanks so much for the responses. Very Appreciated !!!!

I think what we are talking about are artefacts. Kinda junk pixels that usually come about when copying and enlarging low resolution jpegs.

I always find when there's junk around a logo in an area that's supposed to be transparent, here's the fix:

            - File -> Print
            - Printer properties
            - Imaging tab
            - select "Publications" from the "Color Reproduction" drop down menu.

It will change your colors slightly as it's a different color table but usually gets rid of the artifacts.

If that still doesn't work, then you can import their image into an editor like Gimp, mess with the contrast of the image, and I bet you will see those same artifacts. Then either their graphics designer can get rid of the artifacts, or you can at least show them it's not the copier creating it.
