    Kyocera/Copystar 3554ci no yellow

I'm working on a 3554ci. Pages have no yellow. There are NO error codes at all. Nothing in event log.. Just prints all colors except yellow. It uses all the toner in the dv unit.
What I've done so far......New developer unit..Remove toner hopper supply unit to check for toner clogs...
I've ordered a new toner hopper assembly, but not sure about this.. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated..

You need to do some actual fault finding rather than throwing parts at it.
Have you stopped a print part way through? Is there anything on the drum? Anything on the transfer belt?
is the drum rotating? Same with dev? (Mark with a felt tip pen and run. He the marks moved?)

When you installed the new DV unit, it has toner in it already, so you would have had SOMETHING on the page after install even for a few copies. So it has nothing to do with toner supply. Swap the drum unit with Cyan or Magenta, if that doesn't do anything, likely you have no charge and the high voltage board is failing.

I may be over thinking this but if the developer is depleted, would it at least attempt to add more. Doesn't to do this. The toner supply hopper unit is clean. Nothing in it

I would reseat the HV pwb and check the spring contacts. its easy to do. I had the exact same problem on an 02 machine and it worked.

I know others have already provided some insight but thought I would share my thoughts on this.

Run a laser slit clean. I had this exact issue on a brand new machine that had a rough time during transport to the client for installation. Y dev had spilled so badly onto the laser glass that there was no Y output whatsoever. Interestingly there wasn't as much evidence of a spill as I would have thought. Was half expecting a yellow massacre when I pulled the image section but it actually looked OK.

If the slit clean is not enough you may have to go deep and get that toner vac in there. You can go 2 routes; remove the entire LSU (Pain) OR you could remove the drums, devs, belt and try and get a vac into the offending area.

The first sign was the machine took a good 5-10 mins to Calibrate after turing on for the first time once in position. Did you notice if your device was hanging on first boot calibration?
If the LSU is blocked and there is no Y output, the calibration process will time out/fail and I assume may emtpy the dev out as it tries to compensate.
The machine had been booted and setup in the workshop beforehand so we knew it was OK prior to delivery.

This may save you barking up the wrong tree.

Have had a missing colour on a earlier Taskalfa that didn't show an error code. Turned out to be the HV Pcb had gone faulty.

I returned to this machine yesterday and replaced the HV board. Still no yellow. There is a slight yellow background on transfer belt but no image

Remove the charge roller, run a copy , stop the paper in the machine and check for toner on DRuM, transfer belt dv

If the developer unit is untoned, no toner, check the TD sensor. If the TD sensor is not calling for toner then you will not have images. Have you tried another known good Developer unit?
