Had this Fiery in a box for @2years and decided to reconnect to another 5052ci. The panel on the copier would either get error 1030 or 1040, the Fiery would get stuck on FF before finally getting to 00 (after the copier had already errored out). I ordered the system software disc package ad loaded onto the USB using the Fiery USB tool. Now when I try to load the software onto the Fiery it will scroll between different letters/numbers, go to FF, and then a constant flash between 00 and AA. Has anyone had this issue before or know the best way to correct it? Right now the Fiery is not connected to the copier, not sure if it would have to be and if that is the issue.

You lost me at Fiery. Haven’t dealt with one of those since the Toshiba 3100 series. Happy to never deal with one again.

I did this on a printing system 17 which is similar. Here are some important points:
Use a USB stick from 8gb to 32 gb, I used a 16gb.
Disconnect all external cables from the Fiery except the power cord. This includes the interface connection to the printer, ethernet cables, everything.
Be sure to put the service switches in the correct position when loading the software as shown on these instructions.
The Fiery display shows a series of alpha numeric codes during the process. Mine went C1>C2>C3> etc. The Fiery shuts down when completed. Flip the switch to off, disconnect power. Put the service switches to normal position and remove the USB stick. Reconnect all cables. Turn on the Fiery and the printer.
It takes awhile for the system to connect after loading new software. Initially it may appear to still have a problem and show a 1030 code but after 15 minutes or so the Fiery should become active and stop displaying the error. The Fiery log in should change to admin / Fiery.1
