not the brands you mentioned. but lexmark comes with a 1 year warranty as does brother. i don't know the details, but we have something with brother that gives us a 3 year warranty. though they told me the other day it is from date of manufacture. i asked what if the unit sits in the warehouse for 6 months to a year. all he said was that's just how it is.

There is a limit, I think it might depend on the unit. Like a 308ci, the drum/dv maintenance interval was 200k, so your warranty ended there. 52/53 series was 300k for slower models, and 600k for faster, OR 3 years of course.
We stopped selling them because with Sharp we got a discount by only selling Sharp(laser printer), but Epson doesn't count because they're not laser, so we still get a discount(I guess, idk, that's what I was told)Comment

We sold them from 2016 until about mid 2020, so the machines still had warranty for the 3 years after they we got them, so no loss. I think our last warranty claim was around May of 2023. I'm not sure the full logistics of it, I just know there was some discount, not really sure.Comment

That I can't answer. I'm not involved with the money side, I just know that other than one big deal to a college, we didn't sell the big ones nearly as much as Sharp. Also Epson's desktops are much more reliable than the Kyocera color desktops, so we went that route instead.Comment

Kyocera is a premiere brand. Ease of service, very rarely any electronic failures - most always just consumables. Great warranty. Decent hotline support. Website sucks for knowledge base solutions.
I think you'd have to be drunk or crazy to take a chance on Katun. I still can't believe they're making machines. I think they've headhunted some big name guys from Kyo, though.👍 1Comment

Personally I've only worked on Kyocera's but I also do IT for my company so I've dealt with other machines a fair bit. Personally I feel like the interface is much more friendly than any other brand I've come across. The new series machines feel new and look new. The other brands that I have come accross, I dont know if it has just been our clients getting bad machines but, they just feel out of date. They always feel clunky or stuck in the early 2000s for some reason.
Kyocera taskalfa series recycles its spent toner as the new waste toner bottle which is something I havent seen in any other brand.
The part ordering and warranty leave a bit to be desired but its not impossible to use. The relatively new support portal has been very nice.
KFS is HUGE, I wish my connection wasnt slow sometimes but many times it means the difference between going out to service the machine or resetting it remotely within minutes.Comment

Some associates in the UK followed that route late last year and have had nothing but problems and dropped the line.Larhal
