    Kyocera M6630cidn color shift

    Hi
I have a problem with color shift / registration on Kyocera M6630cidn. Already I've swaped: Drums, devs, transfer belt and main pwb. And the last resolved the problem. This is the only way to repair this printer to change the main pwb? Anyone had a similar problem?

Display the screen. [System Menu/Counter] key > [Adjustment/Maintenance] > [Color Registration] > [Manual]

    Select [Print Chart].

    Select [Registration]

select the chart to be corrected.

    Select [+] or [-]

Select [Start] after all values have been entered. Color registration begins.

Select [OK] after color registration is complete.

    Repeat the process if necessary...

Have you done a color registration? I've had it take 15 maybe 16 times to get it in range.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I tried to do a color calibration, but every time I get a calibration error telling me to check the original. And the calibration doesn’t go through. The colors on the printout of the calibration file are shifted, which is probably why there’s an issue.

In the manual calibration, the printout is also shifted, but I’ll try making some changes and see what happens.

Perform the MANUAL color registration, not automatic. As BlackCat said, it may take a good number of times to "walk" the colors back into alignment.

Did have a similar problem on a old Kyocera colour copier (many, many years ago).
Turned out the motor associated with that colour was not going at the right speed.
            Replacing the motor fixed it.
This was when they had individual motors for each colour, not like now where they use one motor.

You can try attached file for complete registration reset.
              It`s encrypted prescribe command
              >>replace transfer belt at first<<
              1. rename the attached file from M6630cidn.pdf >>> M6630cidn.capt (it`s not allowed to upload *.capt files)
              2. store on main root from usb memory and print this file./ system will not print, system will set all registration values back to [0]
              3. run [color calibration] by system menue >> [adjustment/ maintenance]
              4. run [color registration/ manual]by system menue >> [adjustment/ maintenance]
              5. check image

i am not shure if it works on your system, because i got it from Kyo for other system, (also Mebius range, but diff. name)
On eventlog you`ll see several C7620 in case of auto registration failures.
C7620 will not shown on the screen, visible on internal log only

              Let`s try

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. A manual calibration helped. I had to perform it several times but finally everything works at this point. The strange thing is that this problem occurred by itself.... I wonder what can affect it especially with such low mileage.

Either the belt gets too white (discolored) or likely a DV unit isn't putting toner down as dense as required for the patches to be read correctly by the ID sensors. This is what throws the registration out of whack. More than likely it will come back.
                  Hope that helps !

As tmaged has written, it will come back.
During each auto calibration, system is running auto registration also. Before reading from the patches, system check/ measures the reflection/condition from the surface of the belt.
Like AGC during scanning for white reference.
If now the belt is dirty (well known for Mebius series), system get wrong basic value and during the measurement, system logged wrong correction data.
At least (internal value >255), it's not longer possible to adjust the laser timing correctly and colors are out of position.
                    (easy explained)
Density problem for 1 or more colors, you can check by the eventlog: C7611/bk, C7612/cyan, C7613/magenta, C7614/yellow density problem.
C7620 means registration adjustment not possible.
C7620 and C761* will always appear in combination.
If you get C7620 only, there is no problem with color density present.
This you can use for all Kyocera color systems without newer Iris series.
KDC engineers decided to remove it for TAxxx54 and successor series.
On this systems you has to use data from U000 reports.
In U468 the first value must be 65535 otherwise calibration failed.
                    HEX 65535 = Binary 1111 1111 1111 1111 (last 16 calibrations)
Each [1] shows calibration successfull, if you get any [0], this calibration failed.
On A3 systems you can use U467 and U468 for reset, on most A4 systems you has to run reset procedure with special FRPO commands.
                    (like I attached)

                    Hopefully i could help you.

I believe there was a firmware update to resolve colour registration issues. Update to the latest then run the calibration again if needed.

For old Gemini only, not for Mebius.
