    [Misc] Long documents scanning

Using the long documents setting I noticed the highest resolution available is 300dpi, while 400dpi, and 600dpi settings are shaded out.

Can a one of the higher dpi settings be enabled?

    Thanks

What model and configuration do you have? May require added HDD ? Just a thought.

I tried the same thing on a 3252, with the same result.

It's a CS-4003i, DP-7100 RADP Document Feeder. I actually wished it was the DP-7110 or DP-7130. 4 paper drawers including the Large Capacity Paper Feeder (1500-sheet x 2), 4GB Memory, Large Capacity Storage - 320HDD, and FAX System 12. I searched both the OP and Svc manuals but could not find a reference to update/modify the dpi settings for Long Documents.

How long is "long originals"? It sounds like something intentional that the manufacturer did minimize the risk of scan to email document size failures, or so the machine did not run out of RAM memory during scanning.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              From the 4003i manual.....

This is about as specific as it gets. It seems a bit of vague as there is no yes/no statements about dpi settings.

              Page 6-82

"You can scan the long originals such as Contracts and Data log."

              Long Original:

Reads long-sized original documents using a document processor. This function requires the optional document processor.

              (Value: [Off] / [On])

              NOTE:
              • Long originals are sent in black and white.
              • Only single side of a long original can be scanned.
              • Originals of up to 1,900mm / 74.8" *1 long can be scanned.
              • This cannot be set when Bates Stamp is set.

*1 1,600mm/63" if fax functions are used.

6053ci will long scan 600x600. I tried B&W and color, different file fomats. Seems to allow for all using a DP-7110
                Hope that helps !

I tried to compare between the 4003i and 6053ci by comparing info in the brochures.

Maybe It's due to this late hour and I'm beginning to fade that I cannot find the reason(s) why.

It may be an additional capability of the DP-7110/DP-7130 vs the DP-7100 which allows access to the higher dpi settings for long originals.
