    [CQ] 356ci faint cyan

    Hello tech community,

I have a kyocera 356ci giving me hell. They cyan is very washed out and is causing colors to not look right.

I have replaced the Dev, Drum, Transfer Belt, and Laser Unit with no luck. (from a good working machine we have at our shop)

Tried dev refresh, calibrations, half tone adjust fails. Even tried monkeying with the bias voltages in service. No luck.

Ill attach some examples, let me know if you have any ideas. On the U089 chart the large cyan box is visible on the page, but wouldn't scan, just very faint.

    Thanks,
    -MNTech

You've replaced almost everything but high voltage unit. Hopefully Kyo techs will come with more ideas.

Have you tried an emergency stop, then viewing the latent developed images on the transfer belt, and on the drum?

I'm going to guess that you've got a good latent image on the cyan drum, but it's incomplete primary transfer. There may be something wrong with the primary transfer roller mechanics, the HVT or the main board. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        check HV contact from belt.
Have had similar problem with magenta in past.

Ditto of what KYO OEM posted, I ran into the same issue about 2 weeks ago, copies and prints were fine before I removed the transfer belt to clean because of toner drops on the paper. Reinstalled the belt and had an issue with black copies afterwards. Then I noticed the contact for the black was out of place, realigned it and all was good.

most likely spring insite the device which is out position due to removal of old Transfer belt.
If you measure you will know. Normally you should see it also visually.

            have fun.

I had this on yellow that took me wayyy too long to notice that the spring at the rear of the machine for the transfer belt (Y) was stuck retracted and twisted in it's little slot, very hard to see.

I wasted a new developer, drum, transfer belt, and many hours messing around with it.
