    Scan to email 3101 error

I have a Kyocera Taskalpha 3252i that suddenly gets a 3101 send error. 3101 is and error with SMTP authentification. It is an server that we have setup with our company and have used it for years. It was working at this location for over a year and we do not have any other issues with many machines that use this system. I updated to the latest firmware and when I do an email test with the settings it says ok. I tried changing ports, checked email sender name and it is correct. SMTP name and password are correct. Tried different sending ports 465, 587 etc. Very basic network setup at their site. Just direct connection through an internet provider and as far as I can tell there is no firewall or anything that would block it.
Any ideas on this would be much appreciated. I also called into Kyocera support and they basically told me to try what I already have.

    Thank you for any suggestions

Since it's your SMTP server, whoever has access to it could check the log to see what the error is in exchange.
    Hope that helps !

Is there a Subject line in the machine? I’m thinking spam protection has kicked it and one reason this happens is if there is no subject. Have you checked to see if it’s been blacklisted?

Yeah so is it secret? Exchange? SMTP Relay?

Exchange: will not process destinations outside domain, requires IP address of device be provisioned in Exchange for relay permission.

If you have a simple SMTP server running on port 25 then it may not even require Username or password, try it blank. These systems will reject credentials when provided.

TEST CONNECTION only checks for the SMTP port receiver, it does not test authentication.

On my 2552ci I had to disable TLS 1.0 support to get the SMTP to function after a firmware update. Perhaps this is your issue.
