Kyocera 3554ci changing color when printing

I'm working on a 3554ci that will change the color of a PDF during the print job. For example the sample I uploaded the correct image is the one with the maroon edge. During the print job the image will change to the black edge. In a print job with say four of the same image one or two will print correctly and the others will change to the black edge. It's a PDF using Adobe reader to open it. According to the user it happens mainly on PDFs. In the printer properties I've tried different settings but nothing seems to help. Printer is set for full color.
    Thanks for any ideas. Jim

That is such a dark maroon, I can't believe it would ever print in maroon.. I would check the print driver & make sure they are using the KX driver & not some generic driver, I've seen some weird things happen if they're not using the Kyocera KX driver.

There is a setting to change the color table to look like other brands of machines. Customer said that one of their old machines had better colors. We had to do that on one machine but you have to use it with caution.
But I have to agree with copykat, that it is a dark maroon and that it is probably printing in maroon but it is so dark that it looks like it is black.

Try changing the PDL on the KX driver to KPDL from the default PCLXL.
Postscript color intents embedded in the PDF file may be translated incorrectly when converted to the PCL/RGB model

So, if you sent a single page job and asked for 4 copies of it the first one is as it should be and the others gradually get darker?

I’m thinking a change of colour table may be the solution here. I’ve found the TO (Toshiba) table is good for reds. Code U485 if your not familiar with them.
Set the colour table, reboot and run u464 and 410.
              Test again.
Note. KY is the current table. K1 is the previous generation table ie 53 series.
Ko is Konica and has previously been a go-to table when clients complain the colours aren’t right.
So far with the 54 series I’ve used K1, KO, TO, CA FJ colour tables to satisfy clients requirements.
In each case it’s been a particular colour the client has had trouble with.
K1 when the client was happy with the colours from the previous 53 series, generally greens.
Ko when greens/aquas have been the problem
TO when pastels have been off
CA when oranges have been off
              FJ when purples were wrong.
Don’t be afraid to change colour tables. I’ll often take a client sample and print it using all the colour tables and let the client choose the one they like the most. This can be done using a pdf on a USB key. It can take a while, but I’ve never failed to find a table that the client hasn’t been full satisfied with.
Also you can set an alternative table that can be accessed thru the driver settings in the KPDL emulation.

I'd say put it on a USB drive and try it from there.
