    [CQ] 3554ci random CQ issue

Had a technician go out and look at a machine yesterday with the description being "random rainbow lines on prints." He visually inspected the consumables and did not see anything that looked worn. The machine has 7321 black impressions and 95741 color impressions, no recent error codes and the issue happens at random. The U089 sample sets oddly enough come out fine. He did not try to replace any parts yet and I am planning on going out there myself today but, the samples he brought back have me kind of scratching my head. I am almost leaning toward an LSU or transfer problem but thought I would try my luck here before I go out to inspect it. Has anyone seen this before?

    Thank you in advance!

Looks like the transfer belt is failing to clean itself in my opinion, I'd start there. Maybe something got stuck in the cleaning section of the belt?

I see Calibration images on the first image. Transfer belt cleaner either clogged or something stuck under it. I have seen times when the ITB Cleaner was installed and the discharge shutter did not open all the way. Make sure that the cleaning screw is actually turning not just the gears

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

Yes Transfer Belt cleaning unit. In my case I had onion skin paper under the cleaning blade.

It did end up being the transfer belt. Threw me off a little with how intermittent it was.

          Much appreciated!

            not intermittent, based U464 values.

You always has to check U465/ Stress >> values closed to 90 are bad values
This stress data are needed for calibration color density to know the condition from belt surface, like AGC data for scanning.
If you have bad stress values, cleaning voltage for brush inside from belt will not be enough and you get faulty belt cleaning >> easy explained.
Mostly happens on first page only after system had run the auto internal color calibration/ registration.
If you run manual calibration by system menu, short time you are able to check the difference between U464/ Target and U465/ Calib (density reading result)
This result is not visible on MNT report.
