    TaskAlfa 4002i/C9040 Error

I received this service call right before closing and will be going on location in the morning. I know this is a DP lift plate/motor problem but have never seen this problem before. What's the most likey cause so that I can be sure to take what I need?

    Thanks.

It's more then likely going to be disabled when you get there, do a 906 and try the DP, if the plate does not lift or it codes again it's going to be the DP board , replaced 5 or 6 for the same issue

You may also find that the plastic swivel point for the lift place is broken at the rear.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

hopefully customer had a foreign object on the lift plate and you can 906 it.

I knew exactly what you were talking about from your description and that's what it was. I replaced with a used part but I'm gonna order some of the updated parts from KYO's bulletin.

Thanks to everyone for your help. This site has never let me down.

After I saw that, I thought that's quite a thing to say because for me as well, this site has never let me down.

And that says volumes about a bunch of folks sharing information for no other reason than to help one another solve problems.

Just thought I'd throw that out.

The used lift plate that I installed in the customers machine lasted about a week and it too broke @ rear post. Fortunately, I ordered a few of the updated (thanks KYO) lift plates with the metal post.

If you're thinking of MacGuyvering it, it's not worth the time. It took me an additional hour to drill through the plastic shaft, insert a metal shaft, and epoxy it in place. It was a permanent fix, but kind-of a long call with the additional disassembly/reassembly.

That sounds kinda fun but, no, I wasn't thinking about modding the lift plate. What I was trying to say is that my new updated liftgates arrived today via Fedex and they have a steel shaft as opposed to the plastic one that keeps breaking.
