Kyocera 4550ci ADF plate not going up when originals placed in feeder

Hello, when I put the originals into the feeder but because the plate is not going up, the originals stop short of the rollers.
You can hear the rollers try to grab the originals but there is no way the paper is in far enough.
Can anyone help me with this?
Something is not triggering the motor that raises the plate.
Is there a sensor underneath that activated the motor.
The green light goes on when the paper is detected.

Enter U244 and check DP switches
Lift U-Limit and Lift L-Limit, both will be "ON".
In which direction the motor has to turn in case both still "ON"??
He will not turn anymore until 1 of the switches changed to "OFF"
Mostly nose from feed roller holder are broken on the front side.
You has to mount new one.

During ALL requests i received regarding this issue, i explained what i shared here and >90% the problem would solved....
I have a a few cases with broken wiring for the Lift U-Limit sensor....
But always clean sensors are necessary.

I finally got back to this yesterday. I wanted to ask again if anyone could tell me why the lift cam for the small plate that lifts the originals into place will not activate when I press the Copy Key. Normally it will lift up and the paper will be fed. In my case the plate stays down and the paper feed roller assembly attempts three times to pick up the paper. But it can't because the plate stays down and the leading edge of the originals can't reach it.

I did clean the sensors as suggested. I also removed the top of the ADF to check connections, etc. Also the back where the motors are.

If I move the cam up with a screwdriver (pic attached) it will actually move down when I close the top. It's like it is out of sync or something. The cam motor works as far as getting power to it goes. But it just won't lift the plate up when it is supposed to. It was fine until I replaced the ADF pick-up assembly, so I know I did something weird to this feeder.

One of your upper or lower lift sensors is bad maybe? Did you check them?

PWB will stop working from motor because of this.

I will go back today. I am almost positive I broke that plastic nose when installing the ADF Roller assembly. I remember now something not fitting right. Will report back. I really appreciate this information from you as well as the others here!
